I recorded this about a month ago. I am reposting because I think this bass sounds pretty good after another listen.

I traded a Tele bass for a CAR 1970 fretless P bass in 1977 and promptly ruined the rosewood neck with Rotosounds. That does sound good, I think it was made for you Mr Cheese! I could never get used to fretlines though. I bought a new Jazz fretless about 20 years ago and had never heard of them and returned it after a few days because of them.
That Precision is probably gone now, but I can check on it.
How much was it? I didn't know they ever made them anymore.
I believe it was $899 and it was used.
If I get a fretless Precision, the Tony Franklin is my gold standard.
That sounds like a nice one especially for the price, but I don’t regret this one one bit...

What's that T-Bird? Tele-Bird?
Did you have a custom pickguard made for your bass?
Just put my Fretless Foundation neck on my Peavey Fury and also dropped in a 6 position rotary tone control with five different caps. The fixed value caps add the midrange hump when selected; perfect for fretless. The Fury is a Peavey P-bass, and sounds a lot better than a lot of Fender P-basses. I have no idea what Peavey put in a Fury for a pickup, but the one I have is hotter than any Pbass pickup I’ve ever had. It’s a blast to play.
Sorry. Rant. Why a "Fretless Precision"? That is the absolute antithesis of why Leo Fender invented the instrument in the first place. Yes, the sound clips sound fine. But why? I can see a J-bass going fretless due to its nature and the tone of its pickups, but a Precision? I am sorry. I am not on board.
