John Paul Jones uses a fretless on "In my time of dying" from physical graffiti, that's a really cool song considering it was unlined and stuff.

Jeroen Paul Thesseling (Pestilence, ex-Obscura) plays fretless Warwicks exclusively. Even has a custom-made fretless 7 string Thumb. Great player.

I read in an into with Scott Reeder that he and Josh Homme had both gone fretless for the next Kyuss album before the band was canned.That would have been interesting.

I guess on some rare songs but Mars Cowling is basically a Precision player.

Check out the band Blue Murder, he plays pretty much all his stuff on a fretless.
Second Blue Murder album also features Marco Mendozza, another fantastic player using fretless in a rock band.

Can't remember his name but the bassist for Opeth does a lot of fretless stuff.

Also, Claypool his fretless playing is outstanding!

You dont hear it often, because most of the time it does not sound good. Most of the time it sounds just like a out of tune, seasick bass without the punch you get from frets.
But...some does it and i bet they like it. Maybe its for you.
