That headstock is a standard 4+1; I don't think they ever made a 3+2 for the L5K.
My mistake, I wanted to say G&L 4+1 regular headstock, it's not the sickle headstock. Please forgive me

This one is mine! I posted my thoughts on it in that thread. So we were driving from east TX back to WI on Black Friday. My son lost his sunglasses at fuel stop in the middle of nowhere Arkansas. Later on down the road we veered off the highway to get him a new pair. After we pulled out of the mall we saw a music store, so I decided to stop--he's a guitar player so it's just something we do when we travel. (My wife has been conditioned!)
It was mostly junk at this store. Then I looked behind the counter and did a triple take. The first L-5000 I've ever seen in real life. It was dirty. Like grimy black filth up against the fretwires dirty. But it played and sounded great and I had to have it. I paid a little too much for it but I knew the neck and the pickup were good so it came home with me. When in Arkansas I guess!

Original quotation for a 5-string bass bridge dated Oct. 14, 1987.
With blueprint.
String spacing .604 (= 15.34 mm)
I imagine Leo was then planning for the manufacturing of the L5000.

The external width of this 1987 bridge is 4.034".
The width of my 1989 ASAT Bass (4-string) bridge is 4.25" (19 mm spacing).
On my 1997 L2500, it's 4.45" (17 mm spacing).

Is it shallow of me that the deal breaker is the cartoony typefont used to spell L5000? I love the futuristic look of the L-2000.
I only learned about these a week ago, gotta have one now.
I love my '80s L2000, and I've been wanting a 5-string p-style bass for years but have never found one I liked enough to purchase. The string spacing was always too wide feeling. Pretty sure this is the answer.
