Friends in Snow Places

We lost power for a week and a half back in a big ice storm in '08. Had power outages almost every winter since at one time or another till last year. This year, though, we moved to a house pretty close to town center (police station, town hall, fire department), so the power doesn't seem to go out much and they say it comes back quick if we do lose it. So we're more relaxed about storm warnings than we used to be.

Well, it looks scary but actually isn't. The Home Depot is 5 miles away - I can take a dirt "back road out of side of the parking lot almost to my house. The blower weighs 175 lbs. total. The Caddy has a center panel in rear seats that opens to the trunk. Clean 2X4 across seat, 2 ratchet straps attached to 2 X 4, straps directly to the axles of the blower - crank, crank, nice and tight. Additional strap across front of box is really just for looks. It was either that or wait 2 weeks and pay $60. No damage to me, the Caddy or the blower.

One man's schlep is anothers workable solution.:D Ok, it is pretty ghetto looking, why else would I have photographed it. LOL!

So it's probably a lot safer than it looks! :p
