With many thanks to the kindness of a fellow TB member, I was able to try fruitcake. Oh my, this is quite tasty. I think I'll get one now and then when it is available.
It reminds me of panettone, just more dense and not fluffy like the Italian counterpart.

My sis sent us one for Christmas. My wife is 100% German and we're doing elder-care for her mom so, sis figures they'd be smitten with an ostensible 'taste of home.
It's still in the box. With the plastic on it, falling deeper & deeper into the snack drawer.
