I see a few bumps and scrapes, enough to warrant a B designation. That would justify the discount. And it is a basswood body, which may be the main difference between it and a neo classic P, and would have me looking the other way. I don't know — I'm no expert. A good neo classic P, one with an A designation, secondhand, would set you back quite a lot more, these days. That thing is cheap, in comparison. If you can swing it, maybe you should get it
I think I'm right in saying basswood. You should ask. The neo classics, I have three — none of them basses — and they are great. They're not run-o-the-mill instruments. Anything in basswood will come in at a lower price. I'm seeing J-standards a good deal more costly than yours above, but only jazz basses, no Ps. Depending on what you need, your options are, in the main, likely to be more pricey. You never know. In other markets, outside Japan, it's possible to do better sometimes, these days.

Glad to have found this forum. I recently acquired a blue Mighty Power, and man, I LOVE this thing. It is definitely a keeper. I've gone through this whole thread and don't see FGN's being moved; but, if anyone knows of shops that might have the Mighty Power's I'd love to know. My searches come up empty. I have to find a mint/clean one in gunmetal gray. The best to all.

That being said, even here in Japan it's hard to come across these double Ps. Especially in that gunmetal color. It was a special release and boy those things sold out fast.
I played with a new one at the Fujigen store and it felt and sounded nice, but that puppy was heavy!
I was gassing for a Mighty Power for a while, and there were some on Reverb, but I couldn't afford it at the time.
Now they're all gone.

Enjoying so much my FGN BMJ-G Mighty Jazz! At the beginning, I had to get used to the 22 neck, but now it is so comfortable and smooth to cruise! Sound wise and build quality in a different league compared to many Fender and Squire that I owned ... only complain perhaps it is the jack out put nut that keeps on unscrewing and jack cable getting out kind of hard!

- now I have on it a pair of Rotosound 77, seems fine to me, what do you guys use, and enjoy?
- pick ups seems fine, would it be worth to updated them and which ones you would advice in case?

I have a EMJ, so different pickups, so I can't comment on their sound. If it sounds good to you, don't mess with them. Try playing with amp EQ first. Technique makes a big difference, too.
I'm currently using Roto 66 steel. They sound great to me; very Geddy or Chris Squire. Some people gripe about how they feel, but I find that after a few hours or so they feel like any other string. I tried nickels (other brands), but never liked the sound.
I've used D'Addario ProSteels; also good, but I like the sound of the Roto's better.
I commented on a post by FGN last month asking them to bring back the Mighty Power, and they replied "We will. Thanks!".
Yikes, that's more than double the price they used to be. I also see that the EMJ only has the new ash version (for a ridiculous price, IMO) - like 50% more than my non-ash one was.
Either their site is doing the currency conversion wrong, or they really are demanding a LOT more money now.
My FGN rolls with me as backup to my Drake Mk7. The EMJ is bone stock and sounds great.
Yeah, I paid 1015 for mine including taxes and shipping from Japan in 2022. I think you might be right about their currency conversion.
I believe I paid in the range of $1400 for my Mighty Jazz Dark Evolution, I'm not sure if they discontinued the line but didn't see the exact name listed on the site. Still, I believe buying FGN is a bit of a premium you pay since they don't have much marketing in the States. I noticed before there was a bunch on Reverb and last time I checked, seems like way less or FGN changed their international sales policy.
The answer to this turned out to be: get the 3/8" Ultralites and pad the fittings with aluminium tape.
