Fully acknowledging female band members

I would like to initiate a new thread that acknowledges and celebrates our female band members, whether they be the BL, front person or bandmate in the bands/ensembles we are associated with. Some of us are members of bands with front-women performers who sing and in some cases play an instrument as well, and other tb members are (female) bass players in their band. I would also like to stress a respectful approach to this as tb rules are justifiably strict on abuse of such (guys). If you are a female bass player in a performing band/ensemble, or are in a performing band with female band mates - lets see some pics of your band!

It's a sub-topic of what appears to be an already active Show us your Band Pictures... Lets see 'em on a forum that I frankly hadn't considered as the place to post as the topic neither deals with humor or stories, but what do I know. FTR, I did consult a good f friend here on tb and she thought it was a good idea. My aim is not political (as in anyone speaking out etc) - just simple acknowledgment. If it appears redundant or unnecessary considering the other thread I mentioned - I'll shut it down.

This was a great band, we are all friends. Other life opportunities and situations occured and we split up 6 years ago or so.

Are there places wher this is still 'a thing'...in 2019 ?

Yeah, you never see women or what ever you label yourself as doing it the other way. But you see this trend on YouTube quite a bit as well with females playing instruments too, like it's a miracle or something, lol.

Yeah, you never see women or what ever you label yourself as doing it the other way. But you see this trend on YouTube quite a bit as well with females playing instruments too, like it's a miracle or something, lol.

Respectfully, there certainly is a 'trend' toward inclusion on an equal scale in many segments of our society, including entertainment. As I stated - this thread was not started to provoke political debate - it's in Bass Humor and Gig Stories isn't it... It will be a miracle when all such issues are moot.

I've been the guy in a Riot Grrl band AND (separately) the straight guy in a Queercore band. The latter was more fun than the latter, but they were both great. I've been playing music for 40 years, and only about 1/3 of the bands I've been in have been all male.

You do know, that if you type "mute" when you mean "moot," you are creating a galloping ambiguity which we now have to ponder in our responses.

I've played in bands with all M and M/F. I enjoy both as they have different energy and performance delivery. From an audience standpoint, I don't know which is more popular - at the end of the day it's how good the band is regardless of the composition of personal.
