#1 is definitely up there for me, too. You ever get tired of your bass tone? Think maybe you want to change something just to hear something different? I've been considering a pickup swap, but then I hear this recording and I slap myself. Why would I want to go changing that tone?!?

I suppose that it's our nature. If I were you though, I wouldn't change a thing on that bass!

Of course you might want to consider trading it to me!

Hey Greg,

Sorry if I came across as a jerk -just have a pet peeve with this particular tune. The Real Book can be great, but lots of stuff gets transcribed wrong in it and everyone plays it that way. Herbie's tune "Dolphin Dance" and Monk's "Round Midnight" got weird in the book too. I played Mr. PC wrong for a long time and was surprised that when I listened closer, it didn't match the book version.

Anyway, I'm derailing your thread -the bass and playing sounds great!

I think the Real Book is correct on this one, I was just being lazy reading it. The first part goes straight up and then back down, so I figured the second part did, too. But, no, it changes slightly coming back down.

Live and learn. And, seriously, thanks for helping me learn!

First of all, I envy you

Secondly the clips all sound great but if I had to pick two I'd say the Bass Juice and the Octave are my favorites.

The Bass Juice is gnarly enough to be obnoxious to geetar players but with enough tone for me not to wanna plug MY ears

The octave is just cool. That's it, just cool.
