There's simply too much to unpack here. Where to begin....
Exactly. It's OK that the rhythm section believes this but I wouldn't clue in the lead players.
No reason to put this in the listing IMO.
If that isn't grounds for firing the drummer, I don't know what is.
Some times you feel like a nut. I like listing to The Beatles.
There is an ad here locally on Craigslist that is from a solo guitarist looking for a band to back him up. It lists influences but has no other information. THE WHOLE AD IS IN ALL CAPS. It keeps getting refreshed every month. I want to reach out to him and say, “Switch up your ad, you sound like a serial killer.” But I don’t want to come off snarky. Even though I am.
Yep, this would be the biggest turn off for me. No challenge, no reason to practice, just show up and play stale material one more time, over and over again. That sounds more like a house party/jam than what a band might want to do. If you are too old and tired to learn something new, maybe time to think about quitting because nobody wants to hear you repeat the same stale oldies at every performance.

This is what he posts - the formatting is as it was listed. Would anyone in their right mind actually read all the way through it and respond? I couldn't get all the way through it and in involves me:
THE 'insert band name here' is a band for seasoned PEOPLE. We are both excellent musicians. We are a drummer and a bassist rhythm section who just want to continue to perform featuring you. We are looking to perform once or twice a month or less and the money is not the object. We grew up listing to and playing southern rock, classic rock, blues, Beatles, Almond Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, line dance and lite cover tune favorites too numerous to mention. We are interviewing for a good working entertainment package whether it's a trio or additional. We have no PA system. We are working out of Port Richey. We are looking for a front man or woman with a PA system and four sets of music. Then you are what we are looking for. You can have an instant ready-made band to back you up for those engagements that a single just won't do. We want to stick to the same music we've been working with all these years and not start over with something new. We can and want you to be able to use loud and soft volume changes to show case the voice. We have excellent timing. We know where ONE is. Do not be copycats of the original music. Improvise. You should re-write this ad. It's pretty bad. Don't be so detailed and rigid in what you're looking for. Cut in half or more and make your points succinctly. Otherwise, people will think you're crazy folk that are hard to get along with.

just remove all punctuation and make it one big sentence!! PS: DON"T FORGET TO CHANGE IT TO ALL CAPS!!!!
Why is a drummer concerned about what key a song is in? Unless it's for the bassist's benefit. And even so... bass would be the easiest instrument to transpose keys in... I would think. I saw nothing to indicate backing vocals.
Senior dancers? Does that mean dancers at the top of their game? Or ones near the end of their life expectancy? Is this band going to play the retirement home circuit...? Or "senior dancers" as in 12th grade proms?
As for the listing itself... it is long winded for what it needs to say. The musician in me appreciates them not leaving much to have to call and discuss. It's all laid out. But the former journalist in me says "pass" because, while thorough, it's a bit of a struggle to digest. And it sounds to me like the rhythm section (or just the drummer) wants to run things, rather than it be a group dynamic. Good luck getting a guitarist and singer on board with that.
