I'm pretty sure the Roland V-bass and the SY-300 are not really doing anything like pitch tracking. Which is why they have a great playing feel as there's no real pitch detecting, but on the flip side they don't sound that great for true synth sounds. You'd need to look at the GR line of products like the Roland GR-55 to compare their pitch tracking products, and the GR-55 drives a true PCM synth engine which sounds really outstanding. But if you want to hear glitching, latency, and missed triggering on fast notes the GR-55 PCM engine is a great product to hear all of that with.

The Deep Impact was much, much more forgiving in comparison. I'm assuming the Future Impact will be similar.

Octave jumps and fast playing typically both challenge triggering on pitch-based effects boxes.

Everyone has a way to record sounds these days. Cell phones and nearly every modern computer has a microphone. There's free file sharing sites like Dropbox and Soundcloud and this site even lets you upload file attachments. There's no longer a valid excuse for someone to not be able to record and share. Particularly a musician. :)

UPS is scheduled to deliver mine tomorrow in North Carolina USA. I received the delivery notice directly from UPS thanks to the free UPS My Choice program.

ok, while this is not the original madonna sound, nor the exact bassline (i just listened to it on youtube)... you can hear that it is far from glitchy. maybe it is not that much in the groove :-)

this is played with my jazz bass with the tone knob turned down (which could also have a small impact on tracking)

It's your lack of perfect right and left hand technique that is making it track so well I think.

That sounds reasonable.. However, why don't you give the bridge a try? In any case, I just shared my impression, I am not beholden to upload any files to "prove" my contentions. I likely will keep the FI. But it has idiosyncrasies which make me suspect I would have to tiptoe around its inconsistencies
, especially in a live setting.

My tracking today showed no real useful information, "shipment received at TNT location", location= "USA Others". However, I received an email from "UPS My Choice", that says I should expect a package from 'TNT USA', tomorrow.

I guess to clarify, if I had not signed up for "My Choice" I would not have had any indication that UPS had possession of it, or that it was expected to arrive tomorrow.

well, yes sure. i did not want to prove you wrong or anything. i just listened to the bassline and thought i give it a try. it is definitely "hard" to get it right with the f.i. you have to play very cleanly and play the notes very short. i will listen to the bridge but i don't have the capacities to transcribe and play the whole song...
my point was simply to show that a busy bassline can be played without glitches.

My comment about having nothing "to prove" was not aimed at you, Lokki. There are a few posts which seem to feel I should upload vids or soundfiles, and that I have no excuse not to in this age of digital wonders. Thanks for confirming my assertions about tracking and glitching in an earlier post of yours.

My Choice seems to work every time, but it is the rest of the UPS system that is broken. I will most likely get another email tomorrow telling me either 1) I was not there to receive it, or 2) there was a status change with my delivery, and it will not arrive until Tuesday.
