Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

So was a list ever posted of all the cc comands or NPRN commands and what parameter they control on the FI? It would be nice to have such a list in order to program customizable interfaces. Thx.

I don't think it was posted but it is available. @lokki sent it to me, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be 100% public? But I'm sure you can get your hands on one.

NRPN info in the spoiler tag.

FUTURE IMPACT COMMUNICATION CODING
----------------------------------

A full message:
176, 99, MSB // controller on channel 1, NRPN MSB
176, 98, LSB // controller on channel 1, NRPN LSB
176, 6, VAL // controller on channel 1, DATA WHEEL VALUE

If the MSB value does not change, it will not be sent, the receiver must assume it remains unchanged.
If the LSB value does not change, it will not be sent, the receiver must assume it remains unchanged.
However, ca. every 1 sec the status of MSB and LSB will be erased, in a new message after that they
will be sent again.

MSB=10: Updating parameters
LSB:
1 Disable/Enable parameter update 0: disable updating parameters, 1: enable and perform updating
all parameters.
When the editor program is started, it has to download all parameters one by one to the target.
If the target recalculates (unnecessarily) after each parameter the algorithms, it may loose some
MIDI data. Instead, at startup the editor starts with a "disable updating parameters", then it
dumps all parameters, and at the end it issues a "enable updating parameters and perform updating".
From this point on updating remains active, since the individual parameters will be edited one by one.

Since the communication happens with 7 bit unsigned data, whenever it is logically justified to use a
negative value on the screen (e.g. amplitude with reverse polarity, transposition down) the transmitted
value scale is shifted up by the amount of the negative limit, so in this case the low end of the scale
is always zero, not a negative number. Otherwise, if the low end is zero or positive, then the same
value is transmitted as seen on the editor screen.

For those of you in for batch #2: Did you get confirmation, request for a deposit, ETA date? I emailed a couple of weeks ago and got a response from Gabor asking for my shipping address, but nothing after that. I assume I'm on the list, but would be happier with a confirmation.

I purchased the FI the day after the first batch were sold out, using paypal so I hope to receive one unit very soon:hyper:

Now you have me worried. The pre-order page says "If you want to secure your position to own a unit just please send an email to [...]". Which I did. I was asked for my address, but not payment. I expected a confirmation that I was in the queue, and maybe something about how to pay, but nuthin'. Didn't see anything about PayPal either. ugh. Fingers crossed!

Hmmm, I had a friend order for me on 12/18 and he didn't mention being asked for an email....

Who can confirm if we made it into the second batch?

All normal CC commands are listed and explained in the manual. The NRPN commands were not yet officially published, but they are no secret either, I just thought it does not belong into the manual that is for everybody.

Well yes of course, but the reason I asked about others' experience is because I'm not getting replies to my inquiries. I kinda hoped someone would say "yeah, this is how the process works". Guess I'll try emailing Gabor again...

As I said in my post (#3041) I emailed him, but I hadn't heard back just yet.

 I just checked my email again and received a message from Gabor saying I am "in".

Since your scenario is pretty much the same as mine — ie sent address, haven't sent money yet — I imagine you are "in" the February batch as well.

So for all those who signed up for the second batch, you'll likely get an email requesting payment details soonish (I imagine, I've still not been asked for payment yet, but have cash ready for that moment).

@Feral Feline - Glad to hear it! I also received a reply from Gabor last night saying I'm "in". Phew! We just have to remember we are dealing with a couple of guys here, not a big company. :)

I order one in the second batch but my money got taken the second I ordered. I am confused on way some people money was accepted and others were not.
i think the early second batch orderers were handled this way. maybe because gabor was not really sure how many/if pedals were left. later on, they changed the website and wrote something like "preorder by writing a mail to this address...

Has anyone paid or fought the non-duties charges on their TNT bill?

No. But I received one, they want $38.63 to cover a $8.63 customs charge.
$08.63 DT (Duty/Taxes and Fees)
$15.00 HDG (Handling Fee/Flate Rate)
$15.00 PI (Residence Fee-Duty) which is apparently an extra charge for delivering to a residence vs business

This is the first time I've bene charged customs or had anything shipped via TNT. You can do a search online, there's plenty of discussion about this. I don't have any additional constructive comments to add to the TNT discussion.
