I've been using my Whammy after the FI (and also a Micro POG after the Whammy) because I had originally was hoping the FI would have worked as poly, alas its only mono. Is there a benefit to putting it in front of the FI?

I'm assuming there's a serious LPF on the input signal to help the tracking bass, thus preventing super high notes. But it should still cover the range of a 6 string bass so assuming you're on a 4 string bass with a Whammy going +1 or +2 octaves up I'd think it should be able to handle that. Assuming it can track the odd Whammy signal at all.

When I bought my AKAI DI way back when I bought it from a dude with a banjo with an electric pickup attached. That's all he had to test it with to prove the pedal worked. And it did, at least on the lower notes. Fun stuff. :)

@lokki or @Andras Szalay : If you have time, could you give us a rundown on what will happen (and when, if possible) with the 2nd batch purchasers please, particularly the people who simply emailed to reserve (like me) as opposed to going through a form.

Will we get an email asking for payment ? Will we get a paypal invoice (if there is such a thing) ? How soon will shipping happen after that ? I'm starting to wonder if I should have heard something by now.

No toes stepped on, but just so you know, some of us were asked to use email – we did, and we're waiting for the next step/instruction in the process.

I've been told I'm confirmed in the second batch, I've still not made a payment because one hasn't been requested yet.

So I'm in the same batch, boat if you will, as BigBeatNut, possibly mistergyro and definitely a few others.

We are just as eager to seal the deal, as those who were in on the first batch, and those clamouring to be in the third batch.

First off, I'm new to any sort of Midi....
I'm interested on this, but having read through a chunk of this thread have just remained confused, but at a higher level!:roflmao:
I don't have any midi equipment, so what would be the cheapest way to connect the FI to a computer to change/make/download patches?

Some sort of USB-MIDI interface. They range from cheap (<$10) to $40-50, and it seems you mostly get what you pay for. Some people have not had success with the cheapest ones, so it's a bit of a gamble. An M-Audio UNO has worked for me so far, though I haven't tested it for firmware updates yet.
