ehem, that is not how it is supposed to work. the f.i. does not send the patches to the editor. you save them locally on your disk and load them into the f.i. so try choosing another preset from the editor and see if the display on the f.i. changes to -- after you change a slider in the editor. if it does it works :-)

Yeah I explained this to him on the previous page of this thread and his issue was resolved. :)

I'm kind disappointed though @lokki . Every time I see you post in this thread I get excited and hope you are posting info about a new feature or update to the FI LOL! Anyhow, thanks for your contributions here.

Well, I'm blown away by this Future Impact pedal! I'm not a frequent visitor here, and only became aware of it a little while ago. I had a Deep Impact pedal, bought for $100 a loooong time ago, sold on eBay for over $800 a couple of years ago, bought a Markbass SuperSynth for $250, and have been marginally happy with it, though it doesn't sound as good as the DI, but I like the programability. The FI sounds like the best of both worlds, and then some.

They appear to be available new for $429 euros, but I see them selling for more than that on eBay. Are they hard to come by, or what?

They are a small outfit so the runs are limited and they are mostly sold direct with a few select outlets reselling them. They pop up used occasionally but due to demand keeping up or exceeding production used prices are often the same or slightly more than new.

i'm sorry about that. somehow my browser only showed the question and not your answer. after answering it i then saw your answer as well. probably stupidity on my side :)

yeah, believe me i would be excited for new features as well, but i haven't heard anything from andras the last couple of months. there was mentioning of an update to the firmware at some point, but nothing concrete. maybe he can chime in and tell us about the state of things...

the first two or three batches (100 each) sold out pretty quickly and there were some months without f.i. order possibility... but there are no plans to cease production, so not really hard to come by.

EDIT: something wrong with my browser definitely... it happened again! i only saw @Adamixoye answer after i had answered. but he cleary answered before me. strange!

I love this pedal, but there is definitely a lot of drift in the lower frequencies when any of the pitch sliders are used (Fine slider & Beat slider).
These sliders are so important for patch density and character, but not at the cost of irregular volume response.

The Waveform interaction causes the low frequency swell/drift to randomly increase by as much as 6db on many patches! (I'm very surprised others have not mentioned this?) :eyebrow:

Providing my pedal is not defective - I think there needs to be some kind of oscillator 'hard-sync' implemented in an update to stop/reduce these random frequency dips & swells.... :thumbsup:

How would I go about making this feature suggestion/request?...... Andras Szalay?

You are not alone here. I have experienced this as well. Many times I split the difference best I can and will tend to sacrifice low end response and just compensate by boosting low end frequencies with an eq. Sometimes it's frustrating and I have to live with the result, but for live use what I am sacrificing isn't that noticeable, especially when going through a PA with subs.

I've also experienced random fluctuations in patch tone when editing as I believe @gastric has as well. Really strange where I can change one parameter, then change it back to what it was, and it doesn't sound exactly the same as it did before. Strange.

But I agree a hard sync would be a fantastic addition.

Please email your bug reports and enhancement requires directly to Panda. They're responsive.

Note that for the random tone fluctuations when using the editor Panda requested me to test it with various MIDI connections but I didn't personally have the time nor the additional MIDI connections to do that. So if other people can report the same issue, provide their MIDI hardware details, OS / platform details, and a short sound clip detailing the issue, along with the patch used, that'd be super great as there's definitely a bug in the editor or pedal itself that should be corrected.

What happens for me typically is I load a saved patch in the editor and it sounds NOTHING like it should. Change one VCO param and viola it's back to sounding proper. This could be a real buzz kill for people loading our shared patches. "This sounds TERRIBLE." they move onto a different patch and miss out on some awesomeness. I would've never noticed this except I found it while re-listening to my own patches so I as familiar with what they should sound like.

Interesting idea though. You could leverage the 3 digit LED display for a tuner easily enough. It can display letters, could shift the letter left-to-right for flat-sharp, blink on center when you're locked in, or something along those lines.

I do hate having an entire block on my pedal board dedicated to a stupid tuner.

As lokki said, there is no tuner currently implemented. Just speculating, it obviously has the pitch tracking built in, but there are two issues:

(1) general firmware issues (memory to implement a feature, how you go about implementing the feature in terms of button presses, etc.)
(2) not enough display space to have a fully functional tuner

Interesting that a cross-post disagrees with me! I was thinking you would need at least two digits for flat and sharp notes, and then how do you indicate flatness/sharpness in the one remaining digit?
