In the interests of having one extremely flexible pedal, I would say keep the harmonizer.
It would be a LOT more flexible for its primary purpose if it had full ASDR controls on the VCF and VCO. You could then do pads, percussive sounds, etc.

First of all, thanks for sharing these tunes. Brings me back to my youth. Have not listened to them in quite some time.
Well the first sound I believe is Stanley Clarke on his piccolo bass with chorus and some verb, not a synth. While I have not tried to create this type of sound yet, I think the FI should be able to do so, especially since there are flute type patches already which is half way there to what you're looking for. The only thing is you may not be able to get that percussive attack that Chick's lead sound has without using a pick, but I'm sure you can get close to it.

Ah my mistake. I thought you were referring to the opening lead. You are correct. The 2nd lead is indeed a synth. You'll probably need to hook up an expression pedal as well to achieve the modulation effect, but I think you could nail those sounds with the FI.

I've decided to invest in a Soleman to control patches etc, I waiting for it arrive to have resorted to reading the manual. This is my first time real attempt with using MIDI so I' a bit of a noob. It seems OK so far apart from.. I can see how to send PC messages which I assume will simply change the patch selected. How do I send a message to engage\disengage the pedal?

From memory (so please check in the FI manual) I think there are two ways to do it. There's a certain program number (PC) which is effectively 'off'. I suspect it's the lowest one (1 or 0). But I think I read that there's also a CC that you can send too (I read this in one of the readme, for a a firmware update). First option if you can set it up, will be simpler. The second relies on both having the right firmware update on your FI pedal (which may need action from you) and sending the CC I think means diving into the Soleman setup a bit more deeply, possibly as far as setting up a macro.

I've been stalking this forum for a while but just joined to solicit some help with my Future Impact (also joined because I've been playing bass since 1984 and this forum is rad).
I searched this thread and the Patch thread but can't seem to find an answer to what I believe is a simple question (yet not clear in the user manual to me--note I'm a synth newb and struggling to get current).
In short, how do I access the sounds I create via the editor on the FI pedal once I've written them to the FI? I was futzing about with the editor (using the panda midiBeam as my interface) and created a cool sound that I named "65Reveler" and saved to my directory. I wrote it to the FI which was confirmed with the "beep" sound from the pedal. But now, how do I pull it up on the FI to perform live? I can't locate it. User error, I'm sure. But I'm now raising the white flag after lots of futzing and research.
Sorry for the newb question. Also sorry if this has been answered before. I checked both threads but wasn't able to find an explanation.

It should be on patch 65 on the pedal. The first 2 digits of the file name tell you where it is on the pedal. If you want to move it to say patch #1 just rename the file 01reveler.
Thank you so much for the reply. I need to try it again. To be sure I’m clear, which two indicators on the FI pedal tell me the patch number? Is it Bank number and Program number, or is it Program number and Data number?

If I understand your question correctly, it’s Bank and Program, the first two numbers on the pedal display. The third number on the pedal display is the Data number.

Is anyone here using an FI in combination with Source Audio pedals and their hub. (Maybe @Hugsonic ?)
I’m interested in how that works out in practice, and what degree of midi integration you’re doing, whether by SA sole man or other. Do you control both FI and SA pedals from one place (e.g. soleman) or are FI and SA pedals on separate midi, or not midi at all.
I know I’m going to need to re-read the soleman manual before I head in this direction (still haven’t taken the plunge with SA, it may be nemesis 1st) but any practical tips from experience would be useful.

I use a Crocodile Tail Loop + Croc Eye (One Control) to send midi PCs out (omni) to the SA hub, Reflex, FI and Eventide H9, each pedal set to read a different channel and pass omni thru to the next pedal. It can be a little cumbersome to set up patches depending on how many of those pedals I am using at once, but once things are mapped, it works pretty well.
