Is anyone using novation launchpad to select FI programs ? Looks like it should be possible, but I'm doing a lot of reading to try and confirm that.

Yes, it would be 64 programs only ... but I could live with that ... one row of pads, one row of 'bass' bass, one row of 'synth' bass, one row of 'lead' one row of 'fake guitar', one row or percussive effects.

[EDIT] Alright, doesn't seem possible. Novation didn't think to make any of the launchpads 'modes' generate PC messages ... note messages and CC only.

Use an Android tablet or iPad to do this. Both platforms offer several options to carry PC messages out. There are apps such as Midi Designer, Midi Commander, which many TB'ers here use, as well as other options. I personally use my iPad Chart app, Unreal book, which sends pc messages, midi cc messages when I pull a chart up.

I’d go for the new just for the support factor alone.

It’s a no brainer. Definitely new one. Midi, programmable presets with computer editor, more oscillators, etc.

I had the original as well, gigged with it for years, and the new one imo is better. Don’t let anyone fool you saying there is mojo in the old one that the new one doesn’t have.

Is the UM-one one of the supported interfaces (see support website). Some devices won't do the firmware update, but most will change the pedals programs. Also, what computer and what version of its operating system?

Well I assumed since other users were using it but no I didn’t look at support website. Using a MacBook Pro with high sierra(new one) - thanks for reply.

Would be a bummer if that were the case... that's what happened to my M Audio Uno and why I bought a UM- One, but I haven't really had time to test it yet.

Apologies if I've confused things here. All I know is based on the three messages in this thread starting HERE . That, plus the fact that I appear to still have no USB/midi solution that allows me to do firmware updates (on El Capitan) but I can use my USB/midi cable to switch patches and use the editor.

Don't know if any of the above helps @jaibeau ? What is it that you find you cannot do ? Use the editor ? Or something else ?

Are you trying to do the editor or updating on the website? And you do have the MK II version?

Ok I’m back had to play last night. Question was asked “what do I want to do?” Firmware update, Load user shared patches, edit, everything... I can’t do anything lol-
it’s the correct supported midi interface cable (um one MK2) 100% plugged in correct-
Editor pulls up on Mac just fine- I can even grab faders and move them but as far as the pedal being active- it’s not. I appreciate your help big time. :help:
