Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

I don't recall seeing that feature in any other piece of gear I've personally used. I'm not sure why you'd really like to blindly flip the state as opposed to definitely setting it to on or off.

Eventide stompboxes and Boss SY-300 are two devices I use that have this as a MIDI command. Other devices like the Pigtronix Infinity have MIDI commands that basically correspond to a "virtually press the footswitch" command.

The straightforward use case is when you are using an external controller in a live setting and you want to have a single control that can be used as this virtual footswitch. As it is, I can assign an external controller that toggles and sends versions of the existing command, but in that case you may need to hit it twice for it to "catch up" to the pedal's state.

So, technically you DO know the current state and just want to flip it. That makes most sense.

Yeah, I don't think I said that *I* didn't know the state. Rather that the command would perform the toggle action regardless of the state.

Forgive me if this has been answered before but is it possible to turn the tuner on/off with midi?

I'm using a Disaster Area DPC-5 which is a great midi control/switcher but it would be nice to keep the tuner on my small board and use the tuner in the FI via the dPC-5 tuner/mute foot switch (the FI tuner works fine after updating the software but so far I can only use it by pressing and holding the FI foot switch).

Not implemented yet, but a good idea. Will put on the list of the next update.

What is everyone using for a MIDI-USB adaptor these days? I had been using an UNO M-Audio Midisport but it's no longer supported by my current OS on Mac (High Sierra 10.13.3). I have some less-convenient options to run an older version or Windows, but I think I should probably just get a new adaptor.

Irig pro I/O

But it’s pricey. I made the plunge because I’m getting into triggering a lot of soft synths and using Beatmaker 3 too, so it made sense to make the investment since it’s both an audio and midi interface.

Can I send midi changes from my gr-55 to the FI? Let’s say if I want to use the expression pedal from the gr-55 to control filter cutoff on the FI?

Yes. PC changes will change to the corresponding patch on the FI, you can set the GR55 expression to output whatever MIDI CC you need to control the FI param you want to target.
