@Quatschmacher just wanted to say thanks for the amazing work you do on these patches. I'm consistently blown away by how good they sound. My planned time with the FI and C4 (and learning MIDI) has just been put on hold while I learn a bunch of songs for a new band, but your patches will feature heavily when I find the time. To answer your question about MIDI controllers, I have a DA DMC4 gen3... not sure how many CCs it can handle though...

I've gotten as far as loading and rearranging patches with the FI and C4. I still need to work out the most useful and accessible way to arrange patches. The real challenge for me will be getting started on MIDI functionality with the DMC4. I hope what you're saying about the CCs will make sense once I get to that point

As long as you can configure the expression port to send out a MIDI CC (control change message) of your choosing, it should be fine. A cursory glance at the DMC4 specs shows that you can figure two buttons to also send out CCs. On the C4 and FI you can assign CCs to control most of the parameters. The C4 is the most complex in that regard as you can assign the midi map however you like and you have access to all 128 CCs. On the FI, not all CCs are available as some are reserved for fixed functions, the remainder are freely assignable though some have default assignments that are overridable. You can keep it as simple or go as complex as you like with it.

The MC8 has so much flexibility that I can nearly always find a way to achieve any idea I think of and, going the other way, its flexibility gives me ideas on the sorts of things I can achieve with it. Playing the FI chordally was a thing I thought of when I first started beta testing; it’s pretty esoteric and it was cumbersome using just the expression pedal. Getting the MC6 and now MC8 meant I could implement those ideas smoothly and actually get usable musical results from them.

I've just added 3 patches to the file share page. These are the original versions of my factory patches 1, 7 and 36. They are simple drop-in replacements. These have the MIDI assignments I programmed and all use expression pedal sending CC1 to morph as heard in the demos. They sound much better than the released versions IMHO.

For anyone that downloaded the OC2 patch, please redownload it as the diacritics in the original filename prevented it from being written to the pedal. It works now.

I’ve tweaked my double bass patch considerably and it sounds much better. Also, listening on phone/headphones doesn’t do it justice; it really sounds a lot more convincing when played through an amp.

I’ll get a clip recorded (but interface only) and upload the patch sometime over the weekend.

For that clip I used one of the patches that’s already on the site (I just can’t remember which right now). It sounds a bit different as it is one of the ones with morphing on CC1 so I got that particular sound by moving the expression pedal to somewhere between the two extreme positions. It’s most likely one of my factory patches and, if so, will be one of the “MIDI” ones between 80 and 90. I’ll see if I can remember which it was and let you know.

Actually, I think it might actually be my factory patch 86. Try it and move the expression pedal about a quarter to a third from the minimum position to bring in some of oscillator 2.

Wow. Thank you for all you do for this device. I have been preoccupied w other things when playing and my future impact has taken a backseat in my setup but I cant wait to dig in. Appreciate whats waiting...thanks
