Sounds awesome. Where are all of these patches?
All my free patches are available on the Future Impact online database,

I haven’t released the Flashlight patch as of yet. The recording is one version of the patch (the last phrase is using a keyboard to trigger the patch the rest is on bass).
 
Is anyone else unable to see the "add new" button on the FI database website? I just went to upload some fresh patches and I can't. Don't know if it's maintenance-related, permissions-related or some other kind of problem. Could somebody please check and get back to me. @Andras Szalay

The database glitch has been fixed by Zsolt now. I’ll upload these patches tonight. One thing to note is that I created them on my keyboard so they don’t really react quite the same on bass. Patches with filter pitch tracking are often laggy on bass. Also, the velocity response of my keyboard will be different from that of a bass.

Question of the Flexi Controllers that I didn’t see in the manual: Would we be able to use the controls to take a source and bypass its original function in favor of something else? For instance, would I be able to set the Env. Follower as the Source, then have it not affect the VCF at all, but assign it only to affect the VCA instead?

If you mean via the flexi slot, then yes, absolutely. If you mean via the dedicated ENV FOLLOW slider in the filter section, then no, that's a fixed path.
 
Here are some new patches. 1-6 are subtle variations, combined into 1 sound file. 7, 8 and especially 9 is where the interesting stuff happens (towards the end of the track).

I guess I meant sort of both? Yeah, I did mean assign ENV FOLLOW to the VCA in the flexi slot, but I wanted to see if there was a way to not have it control the VCF as it normally would simultaneously. So the end result would be the cutoff would stay in the exact same place the entire time, but the volume would swell depending on how hard the string was hit.

Just turn down the ENV FOLLOW slider to 0 and it will have no effect on the cutoff. Set amp sustain to 0 and assign envelope follower to the amp decay or set attack and decay to 0 and map to the sustain. You could also try mapping to one of the synth volume output sliders.

Just turn down the ENV FOLLOW slider to 0 and it will have no effect on the cutoff. Set amp sustain to 0 and assign envelope follower to the amp decay if you want it to track the volume of your bass. If you just want a variation in volume then map it to the sustain level or one of the synth volume output sliders.
Would it still affect the the assigned destination in the flexi even if it’s turned down to zero?

I wonder if you are conflating two things. The envelope signal from your bass is constantly present. It will only affect a destination if the relevant amount slider is set above zero.

In the case of the ENV FOLLOW slider in the VCF section, it will only affect the filter cutoff and only if set above zero. This slider has nothing whatsoever to do with flexi slots.

If you have assigned the envelope follower as a source in a flexi slot then it will affect the destination by the amount set by the split slider of the assigned destination. You can regulate its response by changing the flexi curve and/or applying a range controller in the slot. This is all explained in the manual.

I’m definetly going to experiment with this. I kinda wish I had realized this earlier, I would have been utilizing that particular flexi source from the beginning!

Study the section on flexi controllers in the manual and all will become clear.

Another cool thing is that you can use the envelope follower (or any other external controller) as a range control. This means that you could, for example, assign an LFO to a parameter (such as an oscillator's coarse tuning) and have that depth be controlled by how hard you play. The possibilities are astounding.

For sure, the envelope follower is possibly the most nuanced and dynamically expressive external feature of the controllers and will probably be what I’ll focus on the most if I continue to experiment with them. My main goal right now is to have the amplitude envelope of my presets match the dynamics and natural decay of the amplitude from my bass, which is proving not to be as intuitive as it may seem. Several different ways that can achieve similar results, just trying now to figure out which is best and what the proper distance between the split sliders should be. Not to mention wrapping my head around the curves in flexi control boxes and which one is best to use.
