Wait, what?? I've been interesting in this app for some time, just had a hard time justifying spending that much on an app, even if it might have been worth it. Definitely going to get it now! Great find! Another great way of learning synthesis, IMO.

I got this when it first launched for £5 but I’d gladly pay £15 for it as it’s really great. It’s lovely that Moog have made it free - they want people to have fun stuff to do when the world is in corona lockdown.

I don't know if it's the right place, but I'm trying, unsuccessfully, make a fancy octaver.
What do I need? Both, An octave octave down, but with a catch: From E1(or below) to b1 the octave only plain instrument, and from C1 and above the octave start to blend in till fully engaged about F2

I don't know if its possible, but if someone have an idea, i will appreciate

Use flexis with pitch as source for the octave up an octave down. Assign the destination to the volume of your octave oscillator. You might be best use one of the hard-transition curves in the flexi window to set the on/off position. You could then use a range control for each flexi to further tweak the transition point.

OK, this is still a bit messy (partly due to triggering and partly some technique I need to clean up) but I'm pleased with my progress. I've also altered the patch.

Thanks, Mike. I spent about ten hours playing it today - got a little obsessed. Still need to learn the rest from the breakdown to the end.

Do you work in medicine/hospitals or deliveries/food? If you do, I must say a big thank you as many people are doing an amazing job at caring for people and making sure society is still functioning.

I work in NYC government. I am the live sound and broadcast engineer for the Mayor. Basically I’m the tech audio liason between the mayors office and the news networks/media. This past week I’ve mixed the mayors live remotes with NY1, CNN, Anderson Cooper 360, the Today show and a few press conferences as well. Tomorrow I’ll be doing Morning Joe and MSNBC later in the day.

It’s been crazy. I’m losing track of what day it is because I’ve been working 14-16 hour days. But it’s very fulfilling knowing the work I’m doing is helping to get the message out about the virus. Informing the public of the latest data and what lies ahead. It’s very challenging since the news is changing so fast. I just got home from work and have to be back at work in 6 hours. I’ve been working 6 days a week. I’m burnt and my brain is fried big time.

All of my fellow synthtastic bass brothers and sisters here, I wish you and your families health and strength through this terrible ordeal. Please take a moment and appreciate what is good in life because we are being bombarded by so much negativity lately.

Also please reach out to the elderly and disabled. They need our help. These poor people can’t even get groceries for themselves because of all of the people who are faster and stronger are hoarding items for themselves. The greed is off the charts. Help each other. We are all in this together.

Hi Ben, thanks. If by “background” you mean some formal education in synthesis then no; I got into it a couple of years ago (and wished I had sooner) and just picked up stuff by reading, listening and playing around.

I also have both the FI and the C4. Lots of classic sounds use only one or two oscillators so can often be covered by both pedals. The C4’s envelopes aren’t as flexible as the FI’s so I find that the FI is more useful if I’m trying to recreate a particular sound. C4 also has no pulse width control for the square wave so any sounds which use narrow pulse or pulse width modulation are impossible to create. I still love the C4 as there is plenty it can do which the FI can’t.

As regards size, have you seen or got one of the @GisserD compact FI housings? They are pretty snazzy and reduce the footprint drastically.
