I'm getting repeated crashes in OSX Sierra as of now. have the most up to date FIEditor... My FI updated to the new firmware successfully, as well. There is no users/username/library directory at all, though, so I'm not sure where to go from here.

Try the above. Also update the driver for your usb-midi interface. Clean off any previous editor versions.

Are windows users still having issues with the latest updates and newest editor? I'm on 3.0 but haven't snagged the latest update yet (but want to for that fix about MIDI channel since I run my FI on channel 10).

As for the CC question, I use and ES-8 so I have access to a dozen assigns per footswitch click and each assign can send 2 alternating CC's (pretty cool to toggle stuff on/off or between pitches), so multi-CC commands are very usable for my setup.

I haven't spent more than a few minutes exploring the FI since upgrading to 3.0 (pretty much just been using 2 or 3 factory sounds so far) but I'd be interested to learn more about a commercial bank of presets (and I do still plan to send some thanks to Quatschmacher once I can really dig in and appreciate the work done.

It seems the problem lies elsewhere than Windows. I’m investigating. Thought it was the Source Audio Hub at first but seems like it might be the MC8 in combination with the Focusrite. I’ll report back again once I’ve figured it out.

EDIT - does seem to be something when sending MIDI to the MC8 from the Focusrite over the DIN port (though not over USB). I wonder if it has anything to with potentially the editor sending commands to the MC8 which are triggering its internal CC responses which is then causing the MC8 to spit out the accompanying CCs which are then getting sent along with the CCs from the editor which set the parameters for a patch. If so, it could be screwing up the FI. Though why that wouldn’t also happen over USB is a mystery.

The other bizarre thing that is happening is that occasionally fast expression messages from the MC8 are locking up my Hub. This was the initial reason I thought it might be the Hub but I guess this could be another, separate MC8 issue.

Focusrite is known to cause MIDI problems; I have to shut my 18i20 off to make a MidiFighter Twister editor work.
Also, the Hub has limited functionality and performance, don't send too much data to or thru it.

Im having trouble updating to the current firmware on my macbook using Catalina 10.15.3 . I am wondering if i am alone here and it is my fault (most likely) or if others are having the same troubles. I am still on FI version 2.2, its been a while. I have barely begun to troubleshoot. Im using a Roland UM-ONE. I have tried with the new editor as well as the Chrome browser version. Any and all help is Greatly Appreciated! Thanks!

Read the posts above. I posted about this again recently. Use the app cleaner to remove the old install and install the latest UM one driver.

It tripped me up too to be honest. My friend was having trouble and I was at his house trying everything (and he’d done all the app cleaning, etc). We hadn’t thought about there being a Catalina-updated driver for the UM-One. As soon as he upgraded it, it worked (though apparently some new issues have arisen).

THANK YOU!! I installed the updated driver for the um-one and presto, it worked! Now i will have to do some digging into the preset sharing community. By the way, your patches are killer, seriously great!

You’re welcome. Glad it worked for you. And thanks for your kind words about my patches - there’ll be more coming too. I’d love to hear how people are putting them to use.

There doesn’t seem to be a huge uptake in people uploading patches. I’m curious as to whether that’s because they aren’t creating their own, aren’t interested in sharing them or are finding the platform difficult, cumbersome or confusing to use. I’d be keen to hear people’s thoughts.

I also had the issue with the driver took a while to work it out. If we are still interested in MIDI CC I use a Soleman so you can send as many as you like in a MIDI macro. I use this to send patch changes and engage CC to the FI. I would love a separate MIDI thread as suggested above. I'm pretty limited at the mo. If this covered FI and C4 alll the better.

I've just added 3 patches to the file share page. These are the original versions of my factory patches 1, 7 and 36. They are simple drop-in replacements. These have the MIDI assignments I programmed and all use expression pedal sending CC1 to morph as heard in the demos. They sound much better than the released versions IMHO.

@Quatschmacher just wanted to say thanks for the amazing work you do on these patches. I'm consistently blown away by how good they sound. My planned time with the FI and C4 (and learning MIDI) has just been put on hold while I learn a bunch of songs for a new band, but your patches will feature heavily when I find the time. To answer your question about MIDI controllers, I have a DA DMC4 gen3... not sure how many CCs it can handle though...
