Future Impact now available!! WAS: deep impact reissue!!! interested?

Looks like tile 31 is the last one loaded according to the screenshots. Check there are no diacritics in the patch title (letters with accents cause errors and I might’ve posted a patch that has one. I thought I’d caught them all but might’ve missed one).

need Help trouble shooting.. appears to load to tile 30 then produces this error. FI performance reflects changed up to tile 30.
Roland UM-ONE Mk II interface input as directed. Power supply is new BOSS 120s. setting in MIDI correct with Roland as in/out. Editor crashes after multiple attempts. what did I miss? what should I look for? thanks in advance
To add to Quatschmacher’s troubleshooting, I had some connection errors on Mac if I would do anything while the patches were loading, such as play bass or click somewhere else. Let it all load before doing anything. I never “troubleshot” it in a controlled manner however.

That’s interesting, wondering if clicking in the editor while the patches are being transferred spits out MIDI. It probably shouldn’t do that and should be tested and disabled if necessary.

I believe that I ran into 'syncing' issues when I have gaps in the sequence. My most successful efforts have been when I either do 1 patch or the full list. I haven't done that for a while so I reserve the right to be incorrect about the gaps thing...

From a workflow stand point, these days I'm working on 1 custom patch at a time. My bulk uploads are only when I need to do a factory reset and then upload my custom patches. For the 10 custom patches... not a burden.

Gaps shouldn’t be a problem now with the manager.

Ok thanks for your help Quatschmacher et al. My plan was to erase tile 31 and replace it with something else. The Editor kept crashing. tried a repair. Then uninstalled FI editor and re-downloaded a new instance of the editor just in case the original was corrupt. now it won't let me input a user name. My password is so complex that I copy and paste it from a document . the editor is fine with that for the password but won't let me paste my username in. Ideas? I was thinking that it might not like being installed in Program Files because of administration rights. Recently switched from Mac to Windows 10 but I've worked a bit in IT at a college so I'm not as dumb as I look. Any Ideas? as always thanks in advance.

In the local app data file there’s a settings file. If you delete this, it should then hopefully fix things and create a new one. Can’t remember the exact location off the top of my head. Think it’s mentioned in the FAQs at the end of the manual.

hey Quatschmacher Thanks. I have to leave for a gig but I'll check it out when I get back or in the morning.
It’s in the very first FAQ.

The editor will still not let me log into the data base although i can log in via the browser but obviouly not convenient. Uninstall and reinstall and followed a delete in the user app Is there something in the registry? Ideas?

below is what you referred to in the user guide. My problem is logging into the database via the editor:

However, should such a problem ever occur where the Editor Suite continually fails to launch, or closes immediately after launch, then please do the following (replacing the italicized text with your own username):

Windows users should delete the "FutureImpactEditor" directory under the path "c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\"

macOS users should delete the "FIEditor" directory under the path "/Users/Username/Library/Application Support".

The folder to delete is the same one, it’ll delete any settings related to login.

What do you mean when you say you can’t log in? Are you unable to enter your username (i.e. your email address) or are you saying that when you have entered your email address and password, it isn’t opening the files pane?

there was an error with the login process please check your account on the future IMPACT Program database site!

yes Correct Quatschmacher, If I try to type in the user name box of the editor it make the error sound I get this message when I try to log in via the editor with just the password (which of course I know will not work)

so I thought Perhaps I need to edit my Account at the audiorammer | Audio PlugIns and Effects database site itself but don't see how to proceed with that. I can log in and out of the program database website in the Chrome browser. Therefore consequently Since it is the editor itself that will not let me add any this in the USER Name box I feel the problem is located there in the app somehow.

Do you have the “remember me” box checked? I wonder if perhaps that was enabled when the text box was unpopulated. Try unticking it and then deleting the settings file I told you about.

Failing that, have a look in the settings file and see if there is an entry for username and try adding your username there to see if it populates.

Are you double-clicking to get into the text box? If not try that.

Do me a favour, go to Windows (C)>users>[your username]>AppData>Local>FutureImpactEditor and open the text file called “setting”. Either send me a legible screenshot of it or tell me what I says under the “[dbase]” entry. Should be something for “memo=…” and “user=…”.

Yes..woo hoo.. That fixed it. Thank You so much!
still unclear why that bit of code was missing
also while trouble shooting I found that there is an "allow MIDI" setting in chrome that was oddly set to block
I changed it but not sure if that was affecting the FI not
I can only guess this setting somehow got ticked after I used the Disaster Area site after I set up my new midi baby
