If your FI is in guitar mode, it will ignore lower frequencies below a specific range. Don’t know how it’s done off the top of my head, but make sure it’s on Bass mode.Wow, lots of discussion here, suddenly.
I feel I need to bump what I wrote higher up, about the abrupt HP filter on some programs with -1 octave. Thanks!

Is that not just due to the resolve being non-pitch-tracked? Try turning on the filter track to see if that changes it. Also, try using the onboard EQ.Thanks. It is in bass mode. Note detection works fine, but for some sounds with a -1 octave element, there is a very audible HP filter kicking in around C or C# on the A string. D sounds massive, with plenty of sub 40 Hz, but C below it has very little below 60 Hz.

What do you mean by the -1? Do you mean using the VCO transpose slider? Am oscillator pitched down to -12?for some, the -1 octave simply stops working below ie 65 Hz.

Bear in mind, some stock sounds are already pitched an octave lower so that one can trigger them with lower latency higher up the neck, and some of those sounds have a note doubled an octave below that so maybe it’s a case of the very bottom notes dropping out of hearing range. Are you trying to play at the very low end of a four- or five-string bass?
Please give examples of exactly which stock patches you’re talking about and post clips if you can.
If you’re in a pinch layout-wise, I’d substitute the Akai Deep Impact (the “mother” of the FI) in the pedalboard planner, but note that the Akai *is* slightly larger than the FI (Akai = 175x140x41mm; FI = 155x125x65mm). So, although not a perfect match, it’ll get you in the ballpark and you can continue with your layout work (semi-pro tip: to avoid losing your mind later, leave yourself some wiggle room on the board when planning your layout). Good luck!
Can your speakers replicate a low C? Maybe it’s “flabbing” out.Stock sounds, unmodified. I am not using the desktop editor at the moment. The one octave down (sub octave) has a consistent, clear "lowest note", but only for some sounds. Fifth fret D on A string has a ballsy D, like the natural note on the B string. The third fret C on the other hand, has little to no sub octave. My other octavers (BSW, EBS OctaBass, tc electronics Sub n up) work fine, sound massive.
Edit: in the C4, the OC2 replica goes deep, but the EDM swell loses the sub octave around third fret C on the A string, similar to the FI.
Not as yet, still haven’t got around to doing this. However, I don’t mind doing 1–to-1 video calls to go through stuff.Hey guys! I'm sure this is redundant.... but is there a good video/tutorial on the basics of dialing in the FI? I have it talking to my computer and able to download user patches, but I am struggling getting the unit to really track well and come through sounding as desired. Thanks!
Have you selected the ports in the MIDI preferences menu of the editor? (Presuming you did the update via web browser. So your interface must work and be correctly connected.) Check nothing else is using the interface as windows only allows a single usb MIDI connection to be active at any given time.I just recently got one but I am unsure if I am doing something wrong, I connected and updated the firmware to 3.60 but I can't get editior to detect the pedal I have connected everything like it said in manual but it wont load any presets. I am using roland quad capture.
I would’ve suggested that but if the user used the interface to successfully update the firmware then it must’ve been correctly connected that time.Have you tried swapping which MIDI cable goes into which jack?
I did switch it to quad capture however the presets from the pedal to the editor won't load the pedal shows --8. dot blinking but nothing elseHave you selected the ports in the MIDI preferences menu of the editor? if the pedal is connected to the editor, two horizontal lines will appear in the display.
Patch changes must then be done in the editor - changing something on the pedal hardware will not be reflected in the editor.
That’s clearly working correctly and has a connection. Is the pedal engaged? Have you got it plugged into an amplifier? If not you won’t hear anything.I did switch it to quad capture however the presets from the pedal to the editor won't load the pedal shows --8. dot blinking but nothing else
Also, as I said, you need to select patches via the editor not via the pedal. That’s clearly working correctly and has a connection. Is the pedal engaged? Have you got it plugged into an amplifier? If not you won’t hear anything.
I have it plugged into my interface with playback option, switching my interface to higher sample rate got it working! That’s clearly working correctly and has a connection. Is the pedal engaged? Have you got it plugged into an amplifier? If not you won’t hear anything.
