Can someone help me. I've got a midibeam 4 control. A foot switch with 2 switches and an expression pedal. I updated to version 3.61 and I've updated the default patches from version 3.5 I think. I have a trs cable connecting the footswitch to the midibeam and a normal patch cable linking the expression pedal to jack one of the midibeam. I connected a midi cable from midi out of the midibeam to the FI. So far all that's working is switch one switch is making the patches go down, the other switch is doing nothing and the expression pedal isn't doing anything. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Expression pedals use a TRS cable.

Check the 4Control manual. If I recall correctly, the default behaviour for the second switch is sustain (CC64).

If you want different behaviour, install the 4Control editor and change the function.

Thanks. I got the expression pedal working with the trs cable I got with the footswitch.. going to need another. Do I need to update the midibeam? I've tried to do it with my m audio midisport uno but I don't think it worked.
No update required. Just attach it via usb cable to your computer and run its editor software if you want to change what the footswitches and pedal controls.

Where do I go in the editor to add vibrato to a patch that I can use with my expression pedal. Still trying to get my head around all this stuff. Not even sure if my expression pedal is doing what it should. I tried QM'S flashlight patch but doesn't sound right to me. Anyway thanks for any help
Is the Flashlight patch playing with the vibrato always on? I made different versions depending on whether you need the patch to load with vibrato applied immediately or not.

Your expression pedal needs to be sending CC1. This should be the default on the 4Control. Just make sure it’s on the correct input jack (see manual for which one it is as I can’t remember off the top of my head).

There are a few ways to add/control vibrato. Most obvious is via the LFO section. Other ways are by mapping a flexi to VCO pitch (global or individual oscillators).

Hi. I've noticed that my expression pedal is acting more like a switch. For example if I'm trying to apply vibrato when i push my expression pedal forward the vibrato comes on but it's not gradually its either fully on or off. Same with all other modulation effects with it. Is that just the same for everyone? I've tried with 2 different expression pedals with same result. Also I'm getting a little noise when rocking expression pedal even if mute my tuner . Strange. Thanks for any advise on advance

Are you using a TRS cable? You may need to reverse the polarity if your pedal or controller has that option. What are you routing expression through?

Hi, I'm going from the jack of the midibeam control4 to the expression out of my hotone ampero press with a trs cable
Ok. Change the pedal polarity if it has a switch. If it doesn’t, use the 4Control configuration editor to change the polarity of the jack socket. See if that fixes it.

presuming you’re going out of output 1 of the ampero which is for expression. (Output 2 is for a footswitch).
