Also, check out this recording my band did to demo some new stuff. There isn't a bass note hit without the OSD on, and a few other sections have the RatTail and Stache. Especially the second track, cannonball. Fun stuff. Check it out.

So about a year ago I had just one pedal, bass bigmuff pi and I think I asked on cult of bass distortion how to cop Nick Thienemans tone, specifically from the first Young Widows record settle Down City. Thom Brady (vegas) suggested I check out the Rattail, and that started my quest/obsession with dirt pedals. Well, I am super stoked to report that today running my Rattail through the Meatsmoke pre-amp from Verellen I copped that Settle Down city tone to a T. In fact, I think I like my tone better. This pedal is outstanding. And running the GreyStache with the boost engaged yields the heaviest bass tone on the planet. I think I have to quit my band and find a heavier project to work on. Anyhow, if any of you donated to the Verellen Kickstarter as well, let me know how much your lovin the Fuzzrocious pedals with it. I gotta get my hands on a Dark Driving, I think it'll be perfect with this guy.

I want to try this preamp out!!!

Yeah, I just heard the other day that you guys went through a format change. Let me know when your ready, we will set up a warehouse/basement show or something.

Cavale is in limbo. Waiting for the vocal mix to come back...then we don't know what the future of cavale will be.
PLUTONIAN is the new band. Two-piece. Drummer from Cavale and me on bass and baritone with a split rig for g****r and bass.

My meat smoke preamp came in yesterday! Can't wait to try it out. In curious how a meat smoke preamp stacked in front of my meatsmoke head will sound

Well I got the Rat King, and I'm very happy with it. I just haven't really figured out how to effectively use the momentary feedback loop yet. And really the only big issue I have with it is that I keep thinking "I bet this would sound great with a BDPG." I've just got so much music-related crap to save up for that I don't think I could get another pedal any time soon. Boooo

You could always sell some stuff or trade.

 OMG....

Did you sell a kidney or something?

Nah, like a year and a half ago I had finally saved up for a ric. I bought a new one from MF and it wasn't what I was hoping for so I returned it. After selling a couple more things (and standing front row in front of brian cook's meat smoke) I just went for it and I'm super happy I did. as for the meat smoke pre I've been in the need of a more portable rig and this is the first step towards that, plus it'll be great for doing some home recordings when I come up with ideas.

to be more on topic, the boost on the preamp or OD channel on the head stack super well with the Fuzzrocious stuff. You get some absolutely crushing sounds pairing verellen and fuzzrocious.

At the moment, my grab and go board is: Rat Tail-->BDPG-->Tuner. The RT gives me the grit and the BDPG provides heft to my clean tone. Stacked they sound fantastic (amazing, really). While this works great with my Aguilar rig, I don't NEED the BDPG with my fEARful rig as it can be too much of a good thing in regards to freqs. below 100hz.

The BDPG isn't really what I expected it to be (it's more!) but I really can't hear the similarities to the Submarine AT ALL. I've owned 2 MKIIs, and I just can't get my BDPG to sound like the Sub. What I intended was to add a bit of sheen and 3-dimensionality to my tone for recording and live purposes. The BDPG, in contrast is really good at adding some overdrive and bass boost from subtle to extreme).

The Aggy rig is only for practice and backup, so the BDPG may be unecessary for my needs. The flip side is that taking a DI split from my board (with the BDPG) might sound killer through the FOH/P.A. and would solve the problems of crappy backline should I ever need to play through one.

Soooo... I'm wondering if another pedal in the Fuzzrocious stable (such as the Dark Driving?) might be a good alternative for enhancing my clean tone and for stacking with other dirt such as the RT. I've heard many of the sound clips on Ry's site but real world experience is always appreciated.

I have yet to find anything that the DD doesn't enhance. It's kind of like the Phat Phuk B, it goes so well with everything. In the case of Ry's pedals I currently use it in front of an OSD and Stash.
