Perhaps I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about picking up some fuzzrocious pedals. I was just voicing support for the BDPG at the the end of you board.
I see now, sorry. Why'd you say that?? I was thinking more the demon king. I want that pedal bad man. I haven't looked too much at the BDPG. I kinda like my B7K at my end. Why would the BDPG be better there? Just curious.
I find the BDPG at the end of my chain really optimizes and takes my dirt to a whole other level. It adds punch and clarity to anything you put in front of it.
to add to this, the bdpg also has a very unique and extremely musical distortion in its own right, some keep it cleaner, some (like me) dial in the dirt, but i still leave it on all the time because it works with every style and technique and brings out the best of other dirt pedals. Not much else out there quite like it.
I know right!! Dang it. I have a problem enough as it is with effects and already wanting a demon king. Now I'm eying the BDPG too. Damn you TB!!!!
What type of dist is the BDPG? Is it like a tubey sort of OD or something completely different?
Btw, I know it's a preamp but it says it can get gentle to doomy grunt. I'd like to know what sort it is. Like OCD, fuzz, rat....

Totally unlike the other dirt pedals we make. Feels more like a distortion in feel/sound to me personally. It feels like a solid state amp's distortion to me, but that's just one opinion.
Nice, I'll research it further. Never really looked into it. Seemed like it was not what I was looking for.
I would say the OSD has more tubey sounding gain than the Dark Driving as that has more of a smoother mellow gain than expansive warmth.
It is funny how different ears perceive sound. I guess we all have our own definition of terms like grit, tubey, warm, etc.
i agree 100%. Old school solid state SUNN 0))) colliseum and concert amps come to mind, but you control it with the tone and input gain so its actually musical unlike when you push most solid state amps into the red. It sits in the mix really well too, but you have to use one to really know whats up, its just cool. It brings out the best of other dirt pedals too.
the number one thing about the BDPG to me is how it sounds with other distortions running through it. Every distortion sounds better. I never use my grey stache alone, it just sounds way better with a broke dick., and when my OSD comes in it will be the same I'm sure. But you cant go wrong with ryans pedals anyway, whatever you get. I'll probobaly wind up with most of them wether i use 'em or not!
