Let's just say that there's no mistaking when mine's on, but it was kinda cool when the loaner Oxide (with its also-energetic blue LED) was next to it and both were on - there was an aqua'ish patch of light on the ceiling that for some reason absolutely fascinated my cat.

It's both. Turn it up for more volume and dirt. It reacts beautifully to your instrument's volume pot too. Clips on the site, my man!

I turned the sustain down as well, and the tone about 10'o'clock and the mids about 2'o'clock. Sustain around 10-2.
