I checked out both videos with headphones and didn't notice a huge drop - I am doing a bi-amp setup with a clean rig anyway, really digging the sound of this pedal!

When we polled customers on Facebook and Twitter, the overwhelming response was "side jacks, top-mounted power" over "side power, top-mounted jacks." We could not fit everything up top without pushing the pots closer to the footswitch, so this seemed like the best approach.
Does Fuzzrocious do anything "normal"? haha
Even with half not usable for what you want, you still have 72 settings available to work with out of 144, which I think it still more than one gets out of other EQs, in general. Have you looked at the FEED ME for that reggae sound? With 20,736 settings, there might be a few (thousand) sounds in there that may work for you.
Keep in mind, this pedal is for clipping/distortion/dirt, not an EQ. It is generally accentuating mid frequencies and compressing. There are lows, mids, and highs available.

Side jacks and top power are literally the worst of both worlds. I can't believe anyone would ever vote for that.
I didn't vote, but had I voted, if there was a "Who gives a rat's ass" choice, that's what I would have voted for. Hard to believe that it matters so much to some people, but hey, whatever.

If the pedal sounds great it goes on the board it might mean a rejig but oh well.
I'm already hearing this as an always on pedal once I find the setting that I love, and mounting it under my board like my feed me mini!

@Mosfed I am a side power, top jack man (when it can't be all top-mounted). I was so surprised how many people wanted side jacks.
Yeah but I paid for the whole pedal and it's not meeting my needs. I think it's worth letting people know buyer beware, it seems like the Baxstabber is more about shaping dirt, and maybe more of a guitar pedal, than a full fledged bass EQ circuit.OP - Thank you for posting this! Well unfortunately I purchased the Baxstabber, and unless he'll exchange me the value I paid for it, I wouldn't take a chance on another. I would be worried about throwing good money after bad.
Sadly mate just sounds like it hasn't worked for you, maybe your bass is to hot or the baxstabber might need to move in the chain, also this eq is def more about the flexible midrange rather than as you say a full on bass eq.
To get Ryan to change and advertise it as only guitar for these reasons aren't really fair as I'm sure he has customers who love the way the pedal affects the low end in there setup.
Maybe try selling the stabber and grabbing a feed me, or if you wanting a full eq grab a dedicated pedal from say boss or Mxr
I just browsed the site & listened to the clips, and I think the Cat Tail, Demon and LunaReclipse are all winners. 
Debating on jumping in on this pre order or paying for a new car battery...

I am not sure I could sell this pedal to another bass player in good conscience. My passive jazz bass is not a very high output bass and it has trouble with over half of the settings on the Baxstabber. I could try to sell it to a guitarist, which is what I will have to do. But as a bass player all I can say I beware. And like ai said, if you're using it to shape dirt, then it's probably ok. If you're looking for clean, I would try to try before you buy.
I know Ryan has a good rep and a lot of fans on TB, but none of that changes a fairly negative experience I've had with the Baxstabber. Believe me, I wish it were not so. And I have not started a complaint thread. But when I saw someone here gassing for one, I felt I had to post my experience. As always YMMV.
No doubt someone on ILF or TGP would be into taking it as well, I'd picked up a couple Toneczar and Spaceman pedals and wasn't entirely satisfied with the voicing.
