Indeed.

Based on the demos I've seen, I'm really digging the LED positions (4:00 and 8:00) best which is no surprise as I'm also partial to the LED setting on the MXR Bass Distortion pedal. The germanium settings also sound pretty killer to me as well. Another thing that Patrick's demo helped with was showing how well the lunareclipse interacts with other dirt so yeah, I'm sold on giving this a try.

Feedback from the bassists I talk to on the reg and local dudes who use the Bax have all been positive and there haven't been complaints about bass distorting unpleasantly. Have you tried turning the internal trimpot down?

If i had a dime for every pedal i bought and didn't work out for me...i'd buy more pedals.

And I have not started a complaint thread. But when I saw someone here gassing for one, I felt I had to post my experience. As always YMMV.

If i had a dime for every pedal that i bought that didn't work out for me....l'd buy more pedals :D

I want everything on top - and if that's not possible, everything on the sides. Why use up 3 sides and prevent being able to tuck other pedals around it?

Option 1 uses 1 side. Option 2 uses 2. Top jacks with side power also 2. Side with top, suddenly you have crap on 3 sides.

Why would he exchange the value? The Feed Me is fantastic, a lot of settings are stellar and some are utter garbage for some of my basses, I knew that after watching the videos, the bax is the same. Just sell it and move on, no reason to post in a thread that isn't about what you have a beef about. Hell I didn't like my MOTH for a hot minute, then I got a new amp...it'll never leave my board.
Email him and detail what doesn't work...more important you know that the FM AND baX aren't eq pedals right?

Anyhoo, I gotta figure out how to make space for the lunar...might have to start smaller second board.....dammit Ryan

A few folks commented about how they hate the MXR style of side jacks w/ side power tucked below the jack. It's not a deal killer for me, personally, but I tooooootally get it. I am open to modding things, so if the sale requires different drilling, I am 99% of the time game to do it :).

Yup, I am open to talking about what works/doesn't work and trying to help a customer find a happy medium or solution.
The FM and Bax would technically be EQs. We just call them tone shapers and preamps for cool buzz word stuff.

I'd love to see more lunaReclipses in the world, period, so I support your order and getting a new board haha

Good points. Here are some other points to consider.
Most pedal builders want to keep the stomp switches and control knobs as far apart as possible for obvious reasons. If you try to keep a low profile enclosure (thickness of the box from the pedalboard surface) with top jacks, you may have to move control knobs closer to the stomp switches. Some builders will go with thicker profile enclosures to keep the jacks on top and to keep the controls away from the stomp switches... some do not like the thicker enclosures or the thicker enclosures interfere with their pedalboard lid. Some builders will use longer (larger) enclosures to keep the profile (thickness) low with top jacks, which kinda defeats the compactness goals of having top jacks.

Some pedals have two stomp switches placed near the corners of their enclosure. If adjacent pedals also have stomp switches in the corners then they could be too close to operate without a hassle if they are butted up against each other. So top jacks on these pedals wouldn't have given you much since you may have to space them apart anyway.

Everything has to be a balance of compromises and no design will satisfy everyone's needs.

That's why pancake plugs are so great!!:)

I think I am going along that route right now. I am gonna bite the bullet and jump on the pre order. Next on my list is a Grey Stache but that one will have to wait hahah.

I know you are he, I was responding to another poster about buying a different pedal and yeah, I don't feel like risking it until I clear the Baxstabber one way or another.

I will also answer @redstrand - the Baxstabber *is* an EQ, a Baxandall active EQ circuit you can change the cap values in. It is totally an EQ.

Ryan I contacted you by email and you asked me to make a video of the problem for you, but you neglected to mention an internal trim pot! I will give that a try. I would like nothing better than to get this pedal working. Is it easy to return the trim to the factory setting so I can sell the pedal if it doesn't work for me?

I meant an eq in the traditional sense that you adjust a lot or slider at a certain frequency. Believe me there are certain settings that just don't jive for me but there's quite a few that slay. It took time and patience. Still, if the pedal isn't defective why would Ryan need to refund you, you're expectations don't warrant a refund. Like I said I hated the MOTH for a hot minute and with a different amp it is a different beast, different gain structure and volume...it'll never leave my board now.
