G. Gould Club!

I think that the best review I can give the swap to the BQC control is 'it's ok'. Really isn't a great deal different, but I sure can dial out what I need. I can't give a full review of it, since I did not play on my own rig this weekend, I had to use someone elses'. However, it allowed me to really dial in or out as it may be, the mid range with really good ability, quickness and ease. once it was dialed in, I never touched it, so I guess that would be a sucessful trial

It always seems desirable to have a mid control, however, I almost always have them set flat on the basses that have them. Once in a while I get in a situation where I have to plug into someone's amp and then I might use my mid control rather than tweaking controls on another guy's amp but these situations are rare.

I will leave my GGi5 as Geoff equipped it. My bass sounds great.

Well this is kind of odd. Not really for me, but hey what the heck. I am now the proud owner of a second G. Gould bass. This one is an old one. 4+1 tuners. I know nothing about this one, so it would be great to get some info...
Geoff???

That is the original design. I had one and foolishly traded it for another bass....I think it was a Lull 5 string. The neck construction is similar to the Modulus Genesis in that it is maple reinforced by graphite.

I think the 4/1 headstock looks nice. The one that I had played great and sounded wonderful.

Can anyone give me an idea of the age of it? Purchased it from a guy in Texas. Never gave me the year or any info on it. Headstock does not have Geoff's signature on it. 1198 or 1/98 on the headstock. As I look a bit closer it looks like it might be 1/98.. Any idea of what that wood might be? Top, back and neck? Maple for the neck maybe??

yup, made in 1998. flame maple top with an alder back. looks like a one-piece maple neck?

emg 40's. either cs or dc's married to an emg bqc 3-band system.

I guess I PM'd you before I read your post. Pretty much that was it for now!! Any idea of the board material? Rosewood? Chechen? Were these GGi5's then? I have seen some called GGJ's as well.
Also, that color would be what? Trans Green? Space Alien blood??
