I think we all just :drool::drool: over the top and don’t care about anything else ;)

#1292 Getting some love a couple weekends ago. I have a lot of basses, but this one still ticks all of the boxes and has the best neck of any of my 4 strings. The knobs were switched a long while ago to what you'd usually find on a Sadowsky bass. It has two EMG JVX jazz style pickups, but I'd argue until I'm blue in the face that it sounds nothing like a jazz bass, and that's a good thing.

1462 just arrived. My girlfriend got me the used Valenti 136 as an early xmas present, and then the RT GG became available, so she asked if I wanted to return or sell the Valenti. So… I unexpectedly bought the average cost of both. :D

1462 is very cool. It seems that the neck is less chunky than the 96 Modulus 5 I used to have, but a little wider. Very similar sound based upon memory. I’m still messing with the action. It arrived pretty low, but I might prefer it a tad higher.

the truss rod is a headscratcher. My modulus didn’t have one, but I noticed they started using them later & the GG has one.

Hi all! Been spending some time with the ggi5. Takes me awhile bc my 3 year old doesn’t let me play so it’s pretty much once a week at a rehearsal space.

The neck is amazing and I love the profile. Thin. Has a very “plank” feel opposite of “bat”, thin and I like it that way.

action was very low when I got it, and I got it a pinch lower. Truss rod definitely works, really had to crank to go straighter, but when I gave it relief it was literally audible.

Still searching for my tone on this thing. Sounds great, but it seems I need to cut through more for my project. It came CSX-GG/CSX. My normal strings are Slinkies, not an elite pick I know but I like the feel and the overtones. Went in the bin and found some Hi-Beams, but only 3 were long enough, so gonna run 3 steels and 2 nickels for a spell……makes a good AB anyway!

I also switched the position of the pickups and have a DCX on order from EMG to try in the bridge, will try new strings then too. The CSX in neck is certainly more boomy. But I must reserve my opinion until rehearsal. What I need is very hot and dynamic for slap. Not uber scooped, but scooped and low-mid presence. And it’s gotta cut through a pretty loud rock band. You could definitely call my preferred tone bright. I already noticed a difference on my home practice amp.

This will be a fretless GGi5. Redwood, purpleheart veneer, over ash body. A twin to my fretted GGi5. Can't wait!

Incredible. Can't wait to see the finished bass! I'm so jealous haha.

Who'd you place the order through? I'm hoping to place one within the year as well. I bought my current GGi5 through The Bass Place so I'm probably going to be doing that again.
