Sorry to reply to an old thread. But those pickguards are so sweet. Where did you get them?It is the "chunky" necks that I really love about my G&L. It's getting so I really don't think much of my Fender Jazz neck (though still love the P-bass neck).
Since everyone is putting their G&L herds on display I might as well do it too (again!) Natural is my Tribby (first G&L) other two are USA fretted and fretless. All are basically to die for. Custom pickguards are held on with double sided tape and are removable and swappable. Currently Tribby has a Tort guard (thanks to TB informing me that natural goes best with Tort) and USAs now have matching blue swirly.

PS. Extra "thing" between two switches on Tribby is now a pilot light. It indicates Phantom 9v power over TRS cable. Formerly it was a switch that in "K-mod" single coil mode allowed you to choose between "inside" and "outside" coils. But I found I was always using "outside" so I changed to an LED for power and took the switch out. Of course beauty of G&L is that without power you just flip to passive and it plays completely normal with EQ and the rest not quitting. As for other two, I try to make an effort not to drill holes in my expensive basses!
Thanks!
