I've owned a lot of Bass guitars throughout the years. Anyone own any use the G&L bass. I've seen a couple I like and would like a review on these models.

There is a little love for them here... G&L Club Part 7
They have a decent amount of variation across the line. You will get more help if you post what you want out of one (4/5 string, versatility, P, J, active passive, price range).
I currently own an L2500, L5000, and JB5. Fantastic basses. They will all permanently stay in my collection. I plan to eventually add an L5500 and possibly a Kiloton 5 in the future.

I've owned an L2000 tribute for maybe 15 years...cheapest bass I've ever owned (bought used for $350!)...flat-out best bass
I've ever owned; if I had a lot of money, I'd simply buy one in every color, rather than buying one really expensive bass!!!!
And, if the spacing was a bit wider, an L2500 would be my clear choice for a 5er...btw I also own a JB2; not as versatile, but a fine bass as well!
Took my new M2500 to practice last week, first time I played it with others. Played through my Ampeg BA 1-12 v2. OMG!! It sounded awesome! The amp never sounded better, and the other players there kept asking if they could try it. Couldn’t be happier with my decision to buy it.

It plays and sounds better than it looks.
Made me forget all about those other basses people are always talking about.

Very versatile, topnotch construction, priced right, and perhaps the best stock pickups made.
You hear a lot about people changing pickups in their Fender basses, right?
Well, no one changes the pickups in these things...unless they're certifiable!
I have an L2500 USA. Very well made. Still holding strong 20-ish years later. The L- series are literally tone monsters. The tonal options are almost too much at times. If your music needs a lot of different sounds, this may be a good place to look. Look up the controls for one of these, and you'll see all of the options.

L2000...... magnificent bass
I have an SB-1 (p bass) and its fantastic. From 87', the pickups are unreal and the neck is super smooth
The LB-100 that I own is the finest sounding P-Bass that I have ever picked up. Take a look at their transparent finishes. There are non finer in the world. Take advantage of this brand which holds the latest in true Fender lineage.
I think that you can easily get a consensus that people who have experience with G&L and Fender will say that the G&Ls are clearly a step up. G&L's range of models, the plethora of finishes available, the wide selection of other customizable options like neck widths, binding, painted headstocks, etc., make G&L a fantastic choice.

True Love. 1989 (I think) SB-2 with the gun oil finish on the neck. Mine has the added tone pot, which I hear is not really necessary but it came that way. So versatile.

Ooh, another thread where we post pictures of our G&Ls and tell about how much we love ‘em? I’m in. 
Right now I have (L-R) an ‘89 L2000, ‘88 L1000, ‘00 L2000, ‘93 LB-100. And not pictured, a ‘93 Legacy (guitar). I’ve had that ‘89 since 1994.
I’ve also had an L1500, a 1st gen SB-2, a Tribute M2500, Tribute L2500, Tribute SB-2, another Legacy and an ASAT guitar. Every one has been great, some even better than others.
The MFD pickups in the SBs and L-series have tons of tonal option, huge sound. Others, like the LB and JB models, fall closer to the traditional Fender realm. Just depends what you’re looking for.

On the left is my L-1000 CLF reissue. Just delivered in Feb and it's a joy to play. I do feel bad as it has caused me to neglect my #1 for the past decade, the SB-2 (1996) on the right.
I have a Lakland Skyline Decade that is gathering dust and I'm probably gonna move that to fund a LB-100. Decisions, decisions.
I have a 2000 L-2000 custom order wth jazz neck. Thinking of getting some mods done on that one.
Also, still have the 81 L1K on the right in the lower picture. I sold the 82 SB-2 on the left, had some overlap with my roadworn jazz and I like the roadworn jazz a little better.
I'd really, really like to get my hand on an SB-2.
