Two days ago, I was playing my SB-2 at home and all was fine. I unplugged it to play another bass for a while and a few hours later, when I went back to the SB-2 - Poof!!.....NO SOUND!
Of course, I did the normal troubleshooting, by changing cables, amps, etc., but found no solution. My other basses work in each amp that I tried and the SB-2 no longer works in
any amp. Last night, I also removed the pickguard/control cavity to inspect the wiring, pots, etc. and all wires are firmly in place. By all appearances, the bass should be functioning as usual, but it is completly dead!
As you all know, it's a passive bass, so there's no battery or other components to consider, other than the pickups. I have not yet removed them for closer inspection, since 1). I didn't imagine that both would go dead at the same time and 2). I thought I'd seek advise here before moving forward.
So, TB Community - has anyone out there experienced this before? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help or suggestions. BTW, I bought the bass used about a year ago and it has functioned perfectly until now.
Although not helpful for troubleshooting, here are some pictures:
