Chef, you're the best but I agree with jasonbraatz here. The 17mm spacing is one of my favorite L2500 features.

As you probably know, I recently bought one of the BABP 2500-LE's. It took some research to determine it actually was one, but it sits with the others in terms of serial number I got from other users, and, from the Guitars by Leo website.
Mine is now on there.
It's really easy to create a user profile, got to the registry, and either search, or submit.
If all of y'all go submit your basses, it might really make life easier for future buyers, or other types of research by yourself/others.

-On the "Select Models" dropdown menu, scroll down to "BABP L2500 LE" Its down near the bottom. There are now three up there. I think the first one is likely the prototype, as it doesn't fit in series with the others of the 14 that I know of.

Just had my first rehearsal with my tribby L2k. I love that bass for studio and for solo work. But, I will be sticking with my SB-2 in a band situation. I have never been a knob and switch kind of guy. I think I will be on the hunt for a JB soon.
Just got my JB in the mail that I bought on eBay. I was nervous but so far am very happy. Asthetically it is perfect - baby blue with gun-oil glass maple neck and matching headstock - exactly what I wanted (which is why I bought it on ebay - something I normally may not do).
Playing wise, it is definitely set up for a funker. Great for the slappin' and a poppin' but I kept smacking the E against the neck pup whilst rocking out and got a good amount of buzz. I think I just need to raise the strings a bit.
Sound wise I am still adjusting. I have been playing almost all fretless with flats for the past year and as a result I play too hard. I will need to back off with my fingerstyle or else the pups burp and bark and fart a bit too much.
And I had to take the pickup cover off as cool as it looked. I tried but it upset my fingerstyle too much (I could actually slap with it - just rested the heel of my hand on it)
Here's hoping this will give me years of fun!
ps- I'm glad someone picked up that l2000 at Rocket - a beauty! I was going to go after that before I saw this on ebay and randomly bid for it. I think I'm a jazz guy at heart - too many choices (like on the l2000) makes me sad. If I didn't use all 27 great options on that l2000, I'd feel bad.

Looks dead flat to me - should I back off the truss a little before trying raise the strings? I never know which to try first. I get buzz all the way up the board on E and A (part of that is my technique but the buzz on the 5th and below is always there)
When I get back home I'll take a closer look at the relief.

If it's dead flat, a little relief would help that, yessir.

If you just got the bass, you might want to wait a few days to let it acllimate to your home/temp/humidity.

Did you see the one at Grapevine Guitar Works they had on sale? No matching headstock and satin instead of gloss but it still looks nice. It's no longer on sale but I'm sure you could get the sale price if you ask nicely. I think it was like $1135 brand spankin' new (although I imagine it's old stock). It went on sale an hour after I bought mine and had warrantly and 7 day returns. I probably would have gotten that one had I known....
I'm in the club! Just got a L-2500 Tribute in an ambered stain, it's beautiful, and sounds GREAT, especially in single coil mode. Lots of options!

Tribute's don't come stock with single coil mode, unless something has changed I'm unaware of.

ps - are you the one who owes me $200? I thought I had it for $860 until the last 20 seconds!
The rule of thumb is if it buzzes below the 5th fret it needs more relief. If it buzzes above the 12th fret it needs less relief. If it buzzes equally on all frets the relief is good and you just need to raise your strings.
