G&L Club Part 3

Welp my new blonde arrived safely on the UPS truck this afternoon.
Gotta say, Man O man....I have been missing the boat by not buying one of these G&L L-2000's a long time ago!
This is one helluva bass!
Super well made..and balls from NY to Texas!
Great tonal selection, LOVE IT!
Have only had it in my hands for a few hours and already am thinking of which EBMM Stingray to let go of, in order to pick up another one of these L-2000's.
Something in a funky color maybe....with a matching headstock.
Really like the Spanish Copper Metallic color!
Most likely in an ebony or rosewood fretboard to differ from the bright birdseye maple board on this one. Would want the 2nd L-2000 to produce a slightly warmer vibe via the warmer fingerboard wood.

Beautiful bass, now you need to provide us with much better photos to drool over.

Ebony is brighter than maple. Beautiful new bass!

Ya think? hmmmm....
I do not find that at all.
I have several of each and find the maple fretboards to be brighter and have more pop. more funk tone...
The ebony boards to my ears sound more dull and thumpy.
More warm ...the notes seem to oooooze from them.
And with the maple the notes seem to jump off the board and be bright and punchy.

I dunno , i am sure this is one of those things...or maybe I am just nutso and deaf? stranger things HAVE happend...hahahaha!! :D

Will do my bestest.....
Been wanting to lug some basses to the studio to shoot some real "product shots" of them. Been just taking glorified snapshots of them in my living room with minimal window light.
Need to bone up and make the effort to lug them over to the studio and spend a day.

The fretboard on this L-2000 is nuts...It deserves some close detailed pics.:bassist:

Ebony has more ping in the upper register, and maple has more grind lower than that.....bright in different places I guess? I also hear maple as being more open sounding and ebony being tighter. It's the ping on top that gives ebony that brighter quality though....it makes for a very clear sound. If you want warm though than rosewood is the way to go.

Did he say drool? We are waiting its not like you don't have a camera laying around? It's been a couple of days on the dog shots! Eh?

ei yi yi, this place is goin to the dogs...LMAO
too funny all these expressive pooch pics finding there way into the G&L thread...

Well, Just cannot pick up a camera and turn on a flash and bang off snapshots man....Kinda like natural light if possible.
Will try to get some additional pics in the not too distant future...

you are long overdue bro...do your part to stimulate this crappy economy will ya? LOL :)
I might let ya buy my as new EBMM Dargie Delight II 4H for what I paid for it a few weeks ago....so ya can break the lock off that fat wallet of yours...hahaha!!

Remember I have to live vicariously through other peoples bass purchases till I refill my war chest! Wow I haven't bought a bass since February!

Sitting here staring at the front door waiting for the UPS guy to pull up with the new Butterscotch Blonde :hyper:
This must be how our dog feels every day waiting for us to come home from work....hahaha!! :)
Looking forward to test driving this baybeee.
Fingers and eyeballs firmly crossed the shipping gods were kind to her...
