I just opened up my 1980 L-1000 fretless hog-body today. 
Was a TB purchase from turbine. Beautiful instrument and action. Will post pics over the weekend too.

That's the one with the unique neck plate/joint, right?
I'd be curious if anyone has ever seen another one like that; I sure haven't.

But seriously, are there pick guards for the 1500 or 2500 series? At all? I know it may sound dumb, but I can't stand the look of a "naked"/all wood bass. Still, I'm really interested in either of these models or an ASAT after playing some with small frets.
I've never seen one, but there are plenty of shops that will make custom pickguards for not a huge amount of money.
Well, here it is! Custom ordered L2500 has just arrived over at Rocketmusic. It's going to get tweaked a bit in order to give me SC inner AND SC outer options along with the standard wiring, and then it's off to Norway with it!

Hey guys! What's it take to be a member of the G&L club? I've got a 1984 El Toro that I love...
Well, here it is! Custom ordered L2500 has just arrived over at Rocketmusic. It's going to get tweaked a bit in order to give me SC inner AND SC outer options along with the standard wiring, and then it's off to Norway with it!
Oh, cool. Are you adding an extra toggle switch for the inner/outer setting, or going for a push/pull pot?

Stunning beauty
Such a unique, interesting finish on that rig - and the dark body complemented by a maple fingerboard. NICE!!!
