Thanks anyway. I really like no dot fretboards and matching headstocks. That one had to be very impressive. The black guard really makes the color pop.

Sorry no, I deleted all but a couple pics after I sold it. Just one of the GNT neck, and one with the original pearloid guard.

Here's my new to me L2000 Tribute:

I got it on Ebay for $420 shipped with not even a scratch on it - it seriously looks like new.

It's been a bit challenging to set up, but I think I've got it as good as it's going to get. I have it strung with TI flats and it sounds really good with them.

And, it's only 9 lbs.

This is mine, just like Fourstring's. As posted earlier, got it used from a friend who bought it for her son. It was virtually new sitting in the gig bag. I just love the wood patterns.

I had a nice ASAT, clear blue over ash, maple meck. Got it for $800 since the music shop had it for a few years. Sadly I sold it a few years ago to fund a cross-country move. It was a sweet bass.

I'm not sure. I'm slowly building a jazz bass. If I came across some cash I'd probably go for a MM classic 5. Loved the ASAT, but it was so neck heavy.

Thanks! I'm going to remove the preamp, the series/parallel switch, and the active/passive switch, and do up Femto's series/parallel/inner coils/outer coils wiring with the empty switch holes. I'm also going to be replacing the 250k treble pot with a 500k pot for more treble response.

That one sure is shiny. Sadly my '80 is starting to fog up.

This one will fog up on the forearm contour if I play it in the Mid-Missouri 90 degree 90% humidity weather, and sweat all over it.
So: I don't do that.

My G&L L-1000.....had a few modifications when I bought it, and I like them so I left them. Love this bass. Been my #1 for almost a year now.

Already have a number, just had never shown a pic.

Am I right in thinking that an L2000 with the neck pup soloed is like an L1000? What are the differences?

The L1000 is passive, and has different coil taps.
So, sort of yes, and, sort of no.

I described this bass in at least two other threads, but I finally figured out how to put photos in... My 1985 L-2000. 3-bolt neck, all parts original, all fretboard scum and stickers are mine, weenie DiMarzio strap, home-made "Willis ramp" made by my wife ( I don't slap and pop all that much ) and broken pickup selector switch. GHS Boomers .115-.050 have been my brand for almost 10 years and the neck never complains. All my amps stay low or the house will crumble.
