G&L Club Part 6

Ya. It seems to be well over 500 bucks to build it from the store.which would probably still make sense due to the fact that it will be a new L2000 tribute. The tobacco sunbursts seem to be more expensive... alot. anyone know why?

Mine has a maple neck and fretboard and the headstock is natural with the tobacco body. I cant find one exactly like it online. I would like to know the value new simce thats what it will be. I just ran all the parts thru g&l store. it is around 480.00 after shipping.

With that pic it looks more like 3-tone sunburst to me. If so, the natural headstock would match as well. The newer Tributes in TBS I saw in real life and on the web all were brown'ish see-through along the body's edge (vs opaque black) and had matched headstocks that sport another Tribute oddity, it's the only model where the printing reads "L-2000 BASS" and not just only "L-2000".

OTOH, US models in tobacco look a lot more like yours, that color scheme doesn't seem to be consistent within the G&L range. So it could well be older Tributes look that way (and with a clear headstock), too...

The bass was purchased by a friend new and immediatly stripped of parts for another G&L rebuild. It was given to me and I was wondering if it made sense to put it back to original. Its about 480 bucks for new parts. I believe it to be around an '08.

Used Tributes go for well under $480, so it doesn't make economic sense to me to rebuild it. I paid $350 for mine here. Great bass, though; stacks up nicely with my USA L2Ks.

Now if you can find a damaged complete L2K.... Then you're on to something.
