I see that Sweetwater now has the Olympic White version of the Tribute L-2000 in stock at $699. I must say that it looks quite attractive—and tempting—with the "Brazilian cherry" (jatoba) board.

Having put this bass in different types of light, I fully suspect the pickups I have are white and just not as white as the pickguard. What makes it more deceptive is the fact that EMG puts a texture on the face of the pickups. I suspect the texture is creating some shadows which are in some way making it appear more ivory.

Then again, the replacement set that I receive from EMG may come out of the box looking like it has been using Crest Whitening Strips. LOL. Doubt it.

I've done tusq, black tusq on Sparkle.
I also like NuBone.

My gut told me that was the case, I used ivory on a build.
And they were obviously non white. :)

What I mean is, IMHO, the SB-2 pickups sound much better than the standard P pickups, but maybe you don't feel that way.
Sorry for going off topic and not answering your question, but of all my basses, which include 4 different Ps, my
SB-2 has the hottest and most articulate tone of all of them. I get more complements on the tone of it than any other of my basses.
