Great combination! I'm considering getting that sunburst JB for myself as well. I can't stop buying G&L Tributes.
Both G&L Tributes sound, play and feel like $1K+ basses. And I have a few $1K+ basses. Amazing value for the money paid.
Oh, I know my friend. I have 3 G&L Tribute LB100s, 1 Tribute JB and 2 Tribute L2500s. They are my favorites.
I know, I had that exact same bass and finish. It played beautifully but was way to heavy IMO. But I agree the tributes are the best value out there.
The LB-100 weighs about the same as my Ibanez ATK 5-string and my ESP LTD Fretless 5-string. All 3 basses are on the heavy side. Most of the time, I play sitting down, so weight is not much of an issue.
Can confirm. The ash model LB-100 Tribute I had was nearly 11 lbs!

Got my LB-100 Trib today at the office. So no pics because I barely had time to unpack, drool and put it back. LOL. I put a strap on it but it has some pretty quick neck dive- would other tuners make enough difference or just get a clingy strap? (The cheap strap I got from Sweetwater was purchased because it is long enough for my 54" chest lol.)
So I just bought an El Toro for a real steal, but the neck is not original and is apparently not in wonderful shape. Weirdly, it looks like it a reverse or lefty Interceptor neck. Do you guys think I can put any 3 bolt G&L neck on it, or will I need to be on the hunt for an El Toro neck (which I will never find lol). Related question: who wants to sell me a 3-bolt neck?
My new SB-2 Tribute showed up today! Can I join? 8lbs 7oz! (that's just under 8.5lbs!)

It's an online purchase so I haven't inspected it myself yet. The bass was such a good deal that I was willing to take a chance, but apparently the truss rod is maxed or close to it with excessive relief, plus a ski jump. So, I'll have to evaluate when I get it in my hands.
Don't give up on the neck. I recently picked up an El-Toro too. Turns out neck also had a ski jump (came with a second neck so that's on for now).
Neck is at warpedneck.com getting treated. Talked to the tech and he seems confident he can fix it.
