SB is narrower at the waist. More of an hourglass shape.
Their extremities reach the same points, but the SB is more scooped out in the curves. Like a thinner waist with the same hips and shoulders.

So, I've been playing my new L2K and put a set of round core boomers on it hoping that would tame the treble. The D and G string still drive me nuts and turning the treble down enough to get rid of the harshness muddies things up more than I'd like. I'm not a solo guy and I prefer to have more of a deep smooth tone but with good definition. I have flats on my JB-2 Tribute (TI Flats) and on my PJ (Roto 77). What flats are you using with your humbucker MFDs? I'm thinking about trying the TI Flats on it but it's a lot of money to spend if they suck on there.

I had TI flats on my L2000 and liked them a lot, but never had a treble issue. They just sounded good.
Sounds like you're trying to do exactly what I tried a couple of years ago with my L-2500. I wanted to tame the highs just a little bit, but not too much because I think this bass sounds better with the treble between 70% and 100%. I had Chromes on my L-2500 for quite while and LOVED them. Prior to the Chromes I had nickel DR Lo Riders and they also sounded fantastic but the Chromes tame just enough of the treble to get rid of the harshness without losing definition. They accomplished exactly what I was trying to do.
I recently tried GHS Precision Flats on it and they're not bad overall, but the they're a little thumpier than I want for this bass and the B string has zero definition. It's just a dead, indistinct thump. I may try a Chromes B string or maybe even a Lo Rider, but I'm leaning toward just going back to the Chromes.
I have DR legends on both my L1505 & the Hog L2K.
My L1505 came with a set of rounds that I referred to a cheesegraters. I like DR strings in general so I tried the Legends & am happy with them.
When I got the Hog I thought I would keep it set up with rounds & set it up with a set of Pure Blues…in my head this was going to be my club bass for secular gigs. Covid and secular gigs dried up. Within 3 months I was back to playing church services again (to an empty room at first) and the rounds just didn't sit in the mix. So on went another set of Legends.
I've never ponied up the cash for a set of TI flats. It is allot of coin for a set of electric strings. I have D'Addario chromes on my StingRay 5 and LaBella flatwound black tapes on my fretless Carvin.
All are good strings in the flatwound realm without the price tag of TI's. of course price out a set of good Double Bass strings & that will put things in perspective.
TI flats are my absolute favorite for MFDs. I've bought four sets. But I would recommend trying D'addario Chromes first. They're the same general character for like a quarter of the price. If you really like those, but want slightly more defined mids, then look for the TIs from a British seller on Amazon (~$55).

Another NBD! G&L Custom Shop JB with L-2000 pickups, passive vol/vol/tone controls, Empress body so it weighs 8 lbs even.
I prefer series so they wired them series/single coil with push/pull volume pots. Nice little extra from the G&L CS folks!
