L2000 pickup config with a jazz control layout is something I always thought about. That's a beaut! Let us know how that control scheme works out.my SB1 nightmare is over. Finally! after months of not having the bass due to G&L building a new neck to replace the bad truss rod, then having the bass shipped back to me with the new neck that was measured wrong, and shipping the bass back to them again.....I was provided a full refund for this bass. Thank god thats over.
I am now down to 1 G&L USA Jazz bass. Which I love and play all the time. When they get it right they are great, but they got it wrong way to may times in the past year.
Need to scroll back up a bit:does it have single/dual splits?
can you order it from gl like this?

they wired them series/single coil with push/pull volume pots. Nice little extra from the G&L CS folks!

from brightest to darkest, my picks:
Chromes
Fender 9050
LaBella low tension flats
GHS P flats
I can concur with thisWhen I first went with flats, I remember reading that Chromes were some of the brighter-sounding strings and GHS Precision Flats were some of the darkest. So, there's some agreement out there...

Is this Lake Placid Blue from the G&L color chart? That is absolutely stunning to look at. Enjoy it, B. I wanted to order from G&L option order a jazz bass like that with the regular single coil pickups. Actually the blue I was looking at was close to that. It is the blue that they show their option order Jazz bass in on their web page. Its a dark blue with matching H.S. and a dark rosewood fretboard. Click through the two JBAnother NBD! Currently using LaBella Low Tension Flats on an L2500-love them! Good luck with your search! So, I've been playing my new L2K and put a set of round core boomers on it hoping that would tame the treble. The D and G string still drive me nuts and turning the treble down enough to get rid of the harshness muddies things up more than I'd like. I'm not a solo guy and I prefer to have more of a deep smooth tone but with good definition. I have flats on my JB-2 Tribute (TI Flats) and on my PJ (Roto 77). What flats are you using with your humbucker MFDs? I'm thinking about trying the TI Flats on it but it's a lot of money to spend if they suck on there.
Thanks.
Joe

I just received this Friday from a FB seller. It's already wearing an old set of TI flats![]()

My new to me El-Toro ended up having the dreaded 14th fret flip. Since the bass was in such excellent shape I sent it to WarpedNeck.com to fix and it came back perfect.
When setting it up, it looked like some micro tilt would help playability, but the tech at WarpedNeck cautioned against using the micro tilt and instead shimming the neck.
Thoughts on this? Is using micro tilt asking for problems?
Yeah yeah yeah but whats it sound like?
