I'm not sure about that. I don't remember the build sheet on my 2018 Kiloton saying anything about graphite rods, though I'm sure it has them. I'd have to dig it out to see, and I'm not where I can access it at the moment. The original neck on my 2007 SB-2 had neither graphite rods nor a dual action truss rod.

You might think that, but it was not on the build sheet from the CLF Research L2K that I briefly had and returned.
Not on my 2014 L-2000 either! But you would think the G & L marketing would be all over this as a selling point.
I know. I'm pretty sure Fender puts that right out there with the American Professional II line. In fact, was G&L putting graphite rods in their bass necks before Fender was? Why wouldn't they emphasize that? Oh, and also, it's not on the build sheet for my 2021 Fullerton Deluxe JB, either.

What should be clear by now is that G&L make great basses but are horrible at marketing.

You can probably add in quite a few things they aren't real good at too. One would surely be the cheesy videos Dave McClaren likes to make starring himself sitting in Leo's Lab "left just the way it was the day he died" he likes to remind us. Then *** are you doing in their Dave? That's sacred ground.
And here's another example. IMHO the demo video from Premier Guitar of John Bohlinger doing a demo of the Tribute Doheny is 1000x better than any that G&L has ever produced themselves including some of the G&L Jams they produce. And as much as I respect Steve Araujo IMHO Ed Friedland G&L bass demos are more instructive.
I fully expect him to sweep the camera around to what's left of Leo, still propped up at a workbench with those magnifying goggles on his forehead. It really is a bit odd.
Damn ... That's the Music Go Round near me. I will have to stop in and check it out. I really wanted an L2k, but may need to consider this instead. Interesting color and good price!
I bet Ed Friedland's demos have sold many G&L basses. I know I've watched them all many times.
They used to promote Leo's lab in a decent amount of their marketing. Here is a dealer poster I have and my L2500 came with a hang tag that had a similar message. I guess they cannot use the "no computer driven robots" message ever since they started using CNC (not knocking the switch just pointing out it doesn't really fit now).
I just found out my option order is expected in the first week of October, which will be just under 7 months.

That looks very much like mine--metallic emerald green with a three-layer black pickguard. Mine has a rosewood fretboard, but I like the maple on this one. As you can see by looking at my avatar, I replaced my pickguard with an aged pearl and put a white thumb rest on it. I also have a white pickup cover to put on it, but haven't gotten around to that yet. Most of all, I love that Kiloton. It's a single pickup bass, but it's versatility continually amazes me. Ahhh, the beauty of complex simplicity.
Hopefully that means I have about a month to go! I'm about 5 1/2 months out since my order date.
I ordered the 8.5lb JB-2 from Sweetwater today. It will be outfitted with the Dingwall rotary switch I ordered a couple days ago. I will finally have a j-bass in series mode setup to try. 
I set up my JB-2 in a unique way, mainly because I was using materials available. It has a master volume an active treble control, and an active bass control. The master volume is also a push pull switch so I can switch back and forth between parallel and series. I love it because playing live, I can kick it into series and tweak the tone controls to be anything from a middle-of-the-road bass sound to a fire-breathing dragon, but for recording, I can put it in parallel, adjust the tones to center detente, and I have the perfect jazz bass sound with just a hint of sparkle. Based on the footage of Lollapalooza that I saw earlier this summer, looks like he is still playing a G&L, but now a CLF research L2K. Either that or a VERY well preserved '81.
I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there a way to get a build sheet for a G&L bass? I have the serial number, but would like to know if there is anything special about it before I decide to pass on it. Thanks.
