I pay to have my Double French Horn ultrasonic cleaned every so often. It really is amazing how well that process works.
You have to get one sized according to your needs, there are so many size options and prices that it is sometimes overwhelming.
I got this one (10 liters) in case I need to clean larger parts or multiple at the time, but there are smaller ones for glasses, jewelry that would work as well. Watching some videos on YouTube helps a lot.

After some research, I also learned that putting the parts in a jar (either thin plastic or ideally glass) with Simple Green HD and water will clean the same and I don't have to change the tank water or clean it up every time, as the chemicals and dirt stay contained inside the jar.
Strings come out looking like new, and I can clean up several in one run.

Confirmation from Greg that going forward, all Build To Order versions of the SB-1 SB-2 LB-100 L-2000 and Kiloton will have 1⅝" necks.
On the website, the Fullerton Deluxe Kiloton has changed from 1½" to 1⅝", uniform with that. There is no Fullerton Deluxe SB-2.
I guess a whole lot of existing instruments just inched up in value.
(Unsurprisingly the Tribute SB-2 and Tribute Kiloton are still 1½" nut / 12" radius)

im probably the only one excited about this. I think the 1 5/8" neck is the BEST neck I have ever played. A kiloton with this neck profile is absolutely on my wishlist.
And you can see how loose the e string spring is? I guess that's something that has varied over the years, but that's what they're doing these days.
The CS Kilo I have came with a 1-5/8" neck
Profile is a touch on the thick side, but still very comfortable. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I loved my US Kiloton, but prefer a neck similar to my L1k.

A factory giving up on 1½" and 1¾" nuts, and 7½" and 12" radii seems enervating to me.
I get the logic of putting a financial disincentive into the Build To Order range, but making people pay a substantial amount more only to give them a one size fits all neck feels like them giving up on something that differentiated them from other manufacturers in a meaningful way.
The fact that they've decided even having a different neck for the SB-2 and Kiloton is beyond them perhaps tells us how chaotic the factory has become as it tries to respond to recent changes in demand.
If I were working in the G&L factory for the same money as before, churning out identical Deluxes and CLFs for Sweetwater, I would look back on the days of putting together interesting, individualistic instruments with a lot of regret.
Were I a used bass dealer, I would be hoovering up every unusually-optioned G&L I could get my hands on. They're literally not making those any more, and G&L prices are moving up.
Were I G&L, I would at least be putting out a Fullerton Deluxe SB-2.

I like the 1 5/8 also, more on my L-2000 and M-2000, the same 1 5/8inch nut diameter on my SB-1 is much thicker from front to back and not quite as comfortable to me. I have a JB also with 1.5, and that's really thin. I've never tried the 1 5/8 slim C, as on the CLF models, but I'd probably like it a lot seeing as I read they're slimmer from front to back. A Kiloton with a 1 5/8 slim C neck would be ideal, now it would be a Custom Shop instrument looks like.
Times are a changing, as I get older I seem to look back with more nostalgia. I remember back in the day you could get an "option order" G&L instrument with blocks, binding, metal flake and different nut widths and radiuses! Wow guy, you're getting old !!
I remember when they were all "option order". We just called them G&Ls back then.
I am not that old. It was not that long ago (G&L Product Line Expansion).

I've never thought to use my industrial Branson ultrasonic cleaner for bass parts before.
Your results look great. Also nice to see the price has come down. I think I paid over $200 used for my heated 1 qt machine 20 years ago which was about half of new pricing.
I ordered a CLF Research L2K, and did not care for the 1 5/8" nut width, so because it was possible, I returned it and ordered one with the 1 1/2" nut width. I"m glad I got mine, but I'm sad that G&L are going the way they are. To me, raising the prices and decreasing the options says they don't want to be bothered with option orders.
