Geez I might have to save up the bikkys for one of these, remarkably versatile. A fretless one might be amazing. Boggles the mind slightly that Leo went from the wunkay to the L-2000 with all those bells and whistles, I guess even he finally fell victim to what computer nerds call the second-system effect
The fretless Tribute Kiloton looks like a wonderfully inexpensive way to get into one.
The Kiloton is my favorite GL design, and that pickup placement would seem ideal for fretless.

Honesty, has crossed my mind, but really, the whole 3TS/tort/rosewood aesthetic just doesn't do it for me. Maybe if they offered it in a color I liked… I actually even considered buying a red one and the fretless one, building a parts bass and selling the rest… but I don't want to lay that much out up front to do it.

So I had a chance to play at a few church services this past week for the Easter cycle.
Last week, I used my L-1000 with P-flats and my L-2000 with TI flats, both through a Keeley Bassist and a Q-strip into the house. Sounded huge and fat and wonderful.
This week, I ran my SB-2 with fresh Fat Beams though the Bassist and then a Sansamp BDDI v2 and the results were glorious in the monitors. Not sure how the house sounded, but I was loving what I was hearing.

I agree! Since I instituted the one-in-one-out policy last fall, I'm only ahead two basses!
NBD! Look what showed up this afternoon, just in time for practice tonight. I have to say, I can't find a mark on it. Plastic still on the pg (that is so much fun to remove), finish look fabulous and the ebony fingerboard is nicer than I thought it would be. Truss rod was a little loose as was the locking bridge, but a couple turns of the hex wrench (included), lowering the action and a little intonation and {chef kiss}...perfect!
What a great deal this was. I am actually quite shocked it was there as long as it was but so happy it found its way to me. With price increases everywhere this seems to be a real steal! Only issue is if I ever sell it (not likely), you all know what I paid for it!!

Me neither. I have no trouble whatsoever restraining myself from not buying another bass.

So has any L2k played w their omg caps yet like have you done two singles (k switch) in series but the one closest to ground gets a parallel 0.1uf cap?
Trying this with a carvin later this week because the HB in it are wired permanently in series

I was gonna go with a kiloton 5 for my new fretless, but I really like a mid control.
I love my Kilo 5 Fretless. The only thing I miss about my old Tobias Growler Fretless is the mid switches. The preamp setup on the Growler was perfect on fretless. Too bad the Tobias was a 4 string. Would have kept it if it had 5. It is also too bad that they did not make many fretless Growlers. I knew I would probably never find a 5 string one for sale so I did not bother looking.
Even without the mid control, the Kiloton is a great fretless bass. Pickup placement is where I like it on fretless and the MFD pickup is voiced really well for fretless.
