Snagged this vintage, 80's SB-1 on a trade. She's super nice. That MFD P pup is hot, hot, hot!

All the Metallic colors change a lot on angle and lighting, so here is a handful of shots taken in the same light but at different angles, so you can get a sense of the combination of black pg, Ruby Red Metallic and maple fb

That last one feels the most representative, a nice maroon pairing well with the black, so that the maple is a straightforward contrast with them

Those Quarter Pounders are great pickups. I put a set on a Harley Benton 5 string and it has a punchy aggressive sound.

Looks great. I had a ruby maple. I think that color is more dynamic than most of the metallics based on lighting going from sort of plum in the dark to sparkly maroon in the light.

I slightly regret selling this one

Just because I can, does it mean I should? For $5 and change, I figure I'd fill in the previously drilled holes. Tried it a bit, don't know if I like how high my thumb is off the strings, but for some songs, it may fit the tonal bill.

New thread didn't seem worthy. Only within the friendly confines of the G&L Club did it feel right. That said, I'd prefer non-drilled wood, but such is life.

Man, that is a really nice color. Did that bass have a matching headstock?
