I love a pearloid pg, but after owning this Squier....
....the pale maple / Ruby Red G&L version just felt like a jumble of nice things.
The handful of photos I have of the pearloid version look good, but honestly **they're not representative of reality**. I do know how to use Snapseed to make something look better than it really is

CLxxxxx serial numbers are for April 1997 to 1998, only a few (other than L2500) were issued in 1999. This finish is Cherryburst. I would pay around $1,200 for it. The L2500s with a 3+2 headstock were first released in April 1997 (earlier L2500s have a 4+1 headstock), together with the following changes: a slimmer body shape, a narrower nut width, a 6-bolt/ferrules neck design, and serial number printed on the back of the headstock).

The CLF Research knobs with the helpful grooves on their tops tried to follow the Pro Steels from that bass to my SB-1, but wouldn't go onto the pots. Yet another G&L head-scratcher.
I suppose I could put them back on this bass.
Those knobs come with brass inserts. If the inserts are inside the knob holes, you could remove them and then the knobs might fit?
Otherwise, those knobs do tend to be a very snug fit. I've sometimes had to use a 1/4" drill bit to enlarge the hole.
Yes, that inserts are already out of the way. It's actually only on one of the SB-1's knobs, but I forget which now.
Anyway, I've positioned the regular knobs so that I can see the screw-holes for most of their travel, which is helpful

Yep, Brazilian Cherry F/B and Swamp Ash body
.All G&L basses but the JB and JB-5 have 21 frets.
Just Thomann's price policy (or fanciness).
