- Rally Red over basswood with maple fingerboard
- Natural Ash over Swamp Ash with maple fingerboard
- Royal Purple over Basswood with Caribbean Rosewood fingerboard
- Blueburst over Swamp Ash with maple fingerboard
They are basically the same case other than lining material and logo (based on photos and owning one of the old G&L Custom Creations cases).
The case design has changed over the years though (SKB style to G&G and a few different G&G versions). Not sure when the change occurred but the newest G&L G&G cases have different compartment layouts and actually fit 5 string basses without hitting the tuning keys.

This is a non-answer, sorry, but I want to illustrate the problem. The photo below shows my L-1000 in its case, and my Fallout in the same case. The fallout is only a little shorter than the L-1000, so a full size case nearly works for it. You could easily use a rolled up towel or a block of stiff foam as an insert, and the Fallout would fit fine.
Wow, I never imagined it would be an issue getting a proper HSC for a "Leo Fender" product.

see reviews for photo of a Fallout in the case. I ended up just buying the G&L gig bag for mine. Only bass I own that does not have a hard case, but decided to live with it.
I'm a life long Vikes fan, too. I was that kid in the 70s that was heartbroken 3 times in 4 years, and don't get me started on the Hail Mary game (Drew Pearson pushed off!). Yes, it's a litany of frustration. Thank goodness we have our basses to play, huh?
Has anyone tried using a Fender Mustang HSC with a Fallout? Crazy expensive but ............
I bought one from Sweetwater for my Embassy Pro…it's a very nice sturdy case, and I love that it's not a typical rectangular shape, much easier to carry and load. When I got mine, they were $100, but $129 is still a great price.
Yeah.....I was born in '62 and also loved the Purple People Eaters and endured the Tarkenton years......on my end, the pig skin disappointment was more than counterbalanced by the most successful franchise in pro puck, Les Canadiens de Montreal, who were winning 5 championships in a row during the same period. It got to the point where our mayor at the time would simply announce that "The parade will follow the usual route" . There's plenty of pro sports success in MO as well.....it's all just entertainment
I much prefer a top quality semi-rigid gig bag to a hard case. If I was packing my bass in the back of a van along with the rest of the band's stuff a case would make more sense for me, but the bass is always packed and loaded by me, and today's bags protect very well, tend to be lighter, less bulky/easier to pack, with the conveniences of multiple accessible pockets and shoulder straps. I keep 1 TSA approved Fender plastic case for airline checking, but haven't done that for years. I have a headless Kiesel I travel with. I'm a hobbyist and that bass has been all over this crazy, flying communal rock with me...I just played at an old buddy's birthday in Greece.....it travels in a Kiesel semi rigid case that has been gate checked on many flights........often comes out a bit damp from the temp change/condensation, but so far so good.

Ok, so if you order a "Custom" Fallout bass you get a HSC that fits?
But spending a measly $1500.00 on a USA made Fallout bass gets you nothing (a worthless gig bag). I'm starting to understand.

While I also like getting hard shell cases, be happy it was only $1500 with a gig bag. Close friend of mine used to only buy German made Warwicks. Models that today retail for $4k-$9k. They all came with gig bags. Quickly checking Sweetwater, it looks like most of them are still gig bag included.
