3 piece band, rock music. It is very precise and cuts through. A P bass sometimes fits my band better, but if we are playing a busy song and I need the bass to really stand out, the kiloton works perfectly.

Would you describe the Kiloton has often (or sometimes) to present? Or too forward in a mix?
I guess another way to say it is this: Is the Kiloton too mid forward and possibly too much for some mixes?

I play a mix of pop, country, and worship music. I've had no trouble with my Kiloton sitting beautifully in any mix. I'm not a fan of the parallel setting--it almost sounds like a jazz bass to me, and I find that sound too mild for my taste--but I love both the single coil and the series tones with the tone just slightly rolled off. I switch back and forth between those and have found them to fit nicely in anything I've played. Some have said they find the Kiloton too bright. I haven't found it that way, but the bass and the amp both have tone controls on them.
It is mid forward, but I didn't find it too overpowering. I do sometimes roll back the volume knob on softer songs, but the bass is extremely versatile. The series mode is a lot fatter sounding than single coil and parallel, which also helps with making the bass not too mid-cutting.
The right strings make a big difference too. My current favorite are DR Lo-Riders. I wouldn't mind trying nickels at some point though...
That is a gorgeous bass! I had a JB 5 and absolutely loved it!
I'm using Elixir nickel plated roundwounds. These strings should be mellower than the DR steel wrapped, but should feel similar with both having a hex core. It will depend on your personal taste.

DRs are the only strings I play on mine, the Hi Beams. But my L2500 is so bright I may have to switch to the Fat Beams.

I run TI Jazz Flats on my Kiloton. It is also fretless which impacts my choice some. On the flip side, I also run TI Jazz Flats on my US L2500 and L5000 so maybe I would still run them if it had frets. At this point I only run rounds on the Tribute L2500 and JB5.
Being fretless also impacts the coil tap settings that I like relative to what others are recommending. The mid forward nature of the bass is really nice for fretless.

Just a heads up, Club. The transition to gig bags for Build To Order basses has begun.
G&L had announced this move back at the beginning of the year, but I'm only now starting to receive BTO basses in gig bags. I checked with G&L, and they confirmed that this is what's going to be used from now going forward.

Alright, asking for way more money and offering less. Amazing strategy 
Admittedly, I'd rather have received a good quality gig bag with my 2022 BTO than the "deluxe" tolex case it came with. That case doesn't impress me. Looks nice, but even my 90s-era case with two missing feet feels more well-built and sturdy.
I haven't seen the current bags, but haven't seen many positive comments about them. The bags that came with the Tributes circa 2003-2008 were good. I hope the current bags are at least as good, if not better.

I've hated the G&G Tolex cases that have been supplied with G&L USA basses for years. It wouldn't have taken too much to make them form fitting. I wonder how many A string tuner keys on 3+2 basses have been bent due to those sloppy fitting cases.

The BTO Fallout I bought a couple months ago came with a gig bag. Total junk IMHO.
G&L themselves and the dealer I bought it from were of no help in the matter. Couldn't even buy one at an additional fee.
I had to buy an Epiphone HSC for the bass.

I also dislike the G&L G&G cases, but they did finally fix the tuning key issue on the latest G&Gs. My Kiloton 5 came with a 2022 dated G&G that did not have the issue. My older JB5 G&G does have the issue.
Noting the issue is not really with G&G it is with how G&L specified the case. I have a G&L Custom Creations G&G case that is form fitting and very nice.
I'm hoping mine had the case originally! and they include it when they send it back...
