I just received the 2024 Price List from G&L. Good news, there's been a significant price drop in both the BTO (Build To Order) and Fullerton Deluxe product lines! For BTO, it's a $300-400 drop depending on the model.

Besides the price drop, here are some highlights that I noticed:
1) The M-2000 & M-2500 models are back!
2) The CLF L1K/L2K and Series 750 basses are now BTO models. In the past, you had to go Custom Shop to modify those models.
3) The L-2000 and L-2500 models are no longer available as BTO. That's possibly temporary, I assume depending on the level of feedback G&L hears about that.
4) Empress is back, AND it's an official option for the first time ever. It's always been an off-the-menu sort of thing in the past, but now it's actually on the price list.
5) Block Inlays on the fretboard and body binding are back! Neck binding is not, that's still a Custom Shop thing.
6) Some nut width and radius options are back. 7.5" radius and 1 3/4" nut width are NOT back due to lack of demand.
7) Fret options and Graph-Tech nut & string retainer are back.
8) BTO's will still come with a gig bag by default, and a hardshell case can be substituted for $180.
I haven't dug into the Fullerton Deluxe price changes yet, but I believe they are of the same magnitude.

The Medium C is the most common G&L bass neck. It's got a medium depth and taper from 0.820" (1st fret) to 0.940" (12th fret) for the 1 5/8" nut version, and 0.820" (1st fret) to 0.920" (12th fret) for the 1 1/2" nut version. It has the headstock with the "point" on it, and you'll find it on most of the 4-string BTO models (SB-1/2, L2K, LB-100, etc.).
The JB has its own neck due to it having just 4 bolts, but I believe the taper dimensions are similar to the Medium C.
The Slim C is the more slender neck with the paddle headstock that is used on the CLF Research models.
Most 5-string BTO models use the 1 3/4" Medium C 5 neck profile. The JB-5 has its own profile, and that's called the Modern C 5.

Not that I'll be in a position for a BTO anytime soon, but nice to see some positive changes. I'm wondering if the shift to BTO on the CLF models is done in conjunction with stopping the standard L-2000/L-2500 BTO option because they're just trying to focus on what they feel will be the more popular option. Either way, it will be nice to see some different colors rolling off the line for the CLF models.

(and, yes I know I can get a USA kiloton in graphite with blocks. But after taking a risk on an unsold SB-2 from Greg, I have discovered I like a 1 5/8 neck).
Interesting point. I don't see any caveats on the new price list about "right-handed only" for the CLF Research L1K/L2K basses (and 5-string variants). In contrast, there is a clear indication that the M-2000/2500 and Fallout Bass are only available righthanded.
That says to me... order away lefty CLF Research basses!
They've made both the CLF Research L-2500 and the CLF Research L-2500 Series 750 available as BTO. Would the former be what you're after?

Oh, I gotcha. Yeah, the 19mm/Series 750 is the only L1K 5-string available at the moment. Sorry!
